This time, Liza noticed it before her twin; the massive wall of thoughts, of presences, suddenly approaching their location at an alarmingly fast pace. What she was detecting was faint -- her range wasn't as wide as her brother's, unfortunately -- but it was there. Liza called to Tate, telling him of her suspicions. The girl had the unsettling feeling that whatever was approacing en masse didn't bode too well for them or for Pacifidlog. I'm going to go up, the girl told her brother. I need to see this for myself. Grabbing her pokeballs, she quickly released her Xatu and took to the air.

It wasn't long before she saw the boats approaching the island. No, wait -- not boats. Ships. Ships that looked all too familiar; ships of the Lux navy. She felt a bit of hatred swell up and clog in her chest. These were the people who had attacked her Mossdeep. Her brother stirred in her mind, his eyes seeing what she was seeing. Either they're invading or someone invited a bunch of Lux ships over for some tea, he said grimly. He felt the same way about the ships as Liza did -- it was his Mossdeep that they had attacked, too ... and they weren't going to let Lux have Pacifidlog. Not now, not ever.

Then the attack started.

She saw attacks hit Paficidlog like hits from a cannon, wood flying everywhere as the island was bombarded with attacks from the Lux forces. On the ground, Tate moved away from the edges of the floating marine base and pulled out his pokeballs. While he was stuck on land for now, that wouldn't stop him from doing everything he could to support Liza and push the enemy back. Even as the two of them prepared to fight, he heard the announcements from the loudspeakers. He probably should have remembered where each of those 'sectors' were, but it didn't matter anymore. Liza was already in the air ... and rain began to fall.

The girl released her Volcarona, the brilliantly-colored pokemon hovering beside her. Pavo, use -- No, wait. Crap. Protect those ships! Liza could see the way the water thrashed and swirled with the strong winds -- someone was targeting the ships docked in the harbor. Liza couldn't let whoever it was take those down. The fiery pokemon retaliated with a Hurricane of her own, sending it flying on a collision course with the other attack. Where the two Hurricanes met, a violent spiral of wind formed as the two crashed into each other head-on. Wood and water and pieces of coral were pulled up and spat out in various directions, but the ships were safe -- for now.

The girl pulled out another pokeball, this time releasing a small, mouselike pokemon. The Emolga swept into the air, curiously glancing at Liza. Pyxis, Agility -- then Thunder. With a cheerful chatter, the Emolga took a deep breath to loosen her body to move faster, then called forth a crash of thunder and lightning, aimed directly at the first Lux ship. As the electricity was called down, Liza could smell the ozone in the air. Now, Aquila, Ominous Wind. The Xatu called forth a spiraling vortex of foul-smelling wind with a flap of his powerful wings, then sent it flying at the navy. With any luck, the defenders would be able to sink the ships before long.

While Liza was fighting in the sky, Tate saw the rain and released his Galvantula. C'mon, Percy, the boy encouraged. Let's do this! The giant spider shuffled back and forth, clicking his mandibles eagerly. Thunder! With an excited click, another bolt of lightning was called from the stormy sky, headed for another ship just as Liza's Thunder raced down at the first. He briefly cursed himself for not bringing in more pokemon -- he didn't think anyone would have the balls to attack Pacifidlog -- but it was Lux. Who knew? He could put nothing past that violent, power-happy organization.
