She felt discomforted for a number of reasons. First and foremost, she was partaking in an assault on Lux forces to make the first stand in Unova - a place she had only been once before. Her feelings towards war had not changed in the slightest, even though she had experienced a ‘promotion’ of sorts in the comparatively close past. No more than a month ago she had been moved from the typical ranks of Nox forces to the Hoenn regional leader. She was in the position to lead forces of her home region. Despite the words of encouragement from people she’d met fairly recently, she hadnt yet gotten used to the fact within her own mind. Truly it gave her a sense of empowerment, but deep down she knew it was also an increased sense of danger for her. She didn’t know how rapidly word and reports had spread through Lux, but for her pokemon’s sake more than her own she hoped that word had spread slowly. Sighing a bit, Alyssa glanced around. Nox members all stood beside her at the end of the bridge, ready for the first signs of Lux to appear on the other side if the bridge, to the right or left, or even so much as behind them. She was the only one currently centered before the stone arch, while the others were scattered along the sides of the river that flowed beneath it. Small islands of land and the extension of the mainland and cement walk into the river made it almost connect in some places. They were facing a battle, and this was war. For all Alyssa knew, people and pokemon could die today, and that was the last thing she wanted to happen. She rested her hand on the pokeballs on her belt. She didn’t want to risk any of them, nor did she want to do so in any battle nowadays. She sighed again and looked at the ground, scuffing her black sneakers against the stone, before starting a walk forward, closer to the middle of the bridge. She didn’t know who she would see once she made it to the middle of the bridge, seeing as it arched upwards slightly. Whatever this war for a stronghold and power may present... she thought, narrowing her cerulean eyes at the stones beneath her feet. I hope it’s over easily and quickly....with minimum casualties, if any. She kept her pokemon in their pokeballs, to protect them as long as possible. |
