It was cold, the sea breeze made sure of that. Normally one would expect the residents of the Hoenn Region to be in their houses still, at this hour. Alyssa closed her PokeNav after checking the time. It was barely six o'clock in the morning, and through the dense fog, the sunlight's first rays were completely hidden. The same could be said for her pokemon. The Veteran Trainer had found a relatively safe haven on the legendary Mirage Island. Surfing late last night from Pacifidlog to Mossdeep on Swampert's back had been tiresome, and she was lucky enough to see Mirage Island yesterday. She'd only been able to see it once or twice before in her life. It truly was a mirage indeed. She had spent the night in the cover of the dense trees that populated patches of Mirage Island, warm within her thick-layered sleeping bag. The night had been restful, and she was up early as always. A few of the Wynaut scampering about had woken her up as they tread on leaf-litter and grass. She'd packed her belongings and released her pokemon, giving them free range of the island. She was alone as far as she knew, and she didn't know if anybody else would be able to see it today. She would quite possibly be the only one here. Alone with my pokemon... she enjoyed the thought. After Lecsi's death just a few days earlier, she felt as though she needed to grow more attached to her pokemon. The lack of true emotion she felt for her departed Kecleon aside from being distraught at the death of a pokemon - particularly hers - had shocked her, and shaken her to the core. Daybreak was the first to leave Alyssa's presence after she told her pokemon that they could have a day to themselves if they so wished. Though keeping the link between their minds wide open, the Espeon had vanished into the fog after a moment's hesitation, and she was soon followed by most of Alyssa's other pokemon on hand - her Shelgon, Combusken, Swampert, Absol. Treecko, however, had opted to stay with his trainer, and was now perched upon her shoulder. watching her as she examined the rare Liechi Berries on the trees. It truly was a gift to be able to find so many fully-ripened berries, they would prove useful in battle. I won't take too many, they're the food source of the local Wynaut... Hoenn's Leader surpressed a yawn as she went about picking the first of the berries. Come what may... she thought. ...whatever will come, and decide the path of today.
