LUX: CHIAKI And the magic music makes your morning mood  |
FULL NAME Chiaki Yamada BACKGROUND Chiaki was born twenty-three years ago in Goldenrod City on November 6th, 1989, the third and youngest of her parents' children. Her father, a reporter, was often away from home, but managed to fit a quick trip back to Goldenrod shortly before each of his children's tenth birthdays, choosing an age that seemed prevalent for the handing out of Pokemon to bring them with him wherever he happened to be assigned next, and caught each one Pokemon found in that area. Chiaki was brought along to Route 32 and ended up with a Mareep. She had picked up just enough simple coding jargon from her hobby programmer mother to arbitrarily name the electric sheep Null, a whim that would develop into a trend with her later Pokemon. As she got older, Chiaki started to learn from her mother what programming the woman did know, though it wasn't long before she decided it would be more than just a hobby. She researched on her own, asked her parents' friends, anything to learn just a little more. Once she was able to write programs people would pay for, the irresponsible teenager's money went straight to the casino. Luckily for her, instead of losing it all, she made just enough to trade in for a Porygon, the Pokemon that introduced her to the potential usefulness of certain Pokemon with computers. After that, she began actively collecting them, mostly the electric types that reminded her of computers. Chiaki had only been in business as a programmer and collecting Pokemon for a couple years when the war struck. Swayed by the League's stated goals, she quickly sided with Lux, offering her programming services to the Lux government as well as civilians. She had expected the war to come to a swift end, but didn't think to complain as it dragged on. After all, a full-scale war needed new technology, and new technology needed new software. She had even taken up hacking with the intention of being able to supply information when programs weren't needed. When the war struck Goldenrod, she fled for Blackthorn City after one look at the resulting destruction, though she misses her home town and visits periodically to see how the reconstruction is going. OCCUPATION Her preference for electric types leads her to call herself a Shocking Girl, but she works primarily as a programmer. ALLEGIANCE Chiaki believes whole-heartedly in Lux's goals. She doesn't approve much of their methods, but the same could be said of Nox. Plus, if there's a war going on anyway, she'd rather be on the side that seems better equipped to give and pay her for work. TRAITS |
