There is noise that would overwhelm a younger person’s sense of hearing. How could anyone stand it? The Leader winced, only focusing on one thing in particular when she hears gunshots, and not – Arceus forbid – from the crowd below. As an instinct she ducks atop the Metagross, arm across the top of her head and in front of her face, shielding it from anything that flies that direction. ”Ascend!” It’s then that she notices the tagalong Sandslash. ”Who – “ She’s cut off at the sound of billowing flames through the air. ”Cannon! Watch –“ She’s cut off again when another jet of fire streams past her, almost too close for comfort. She can feel the heat as it passes her. The two fire-type attacks collide, creating a small explosion of flames. One was trying to kill her, the other was protecting her. Alyssa felt the Metagross beneath her shift to the side abruptly, and she curls her fingers around its crown, clinging to prevent herself from falling off given risky moves. It’s at this time that she managed to see who exactly was on the ground. That’s two of my questions answered. The black Manectric by the feet of Wattson is one. ”I owe you, Wattson!” She doesn’t even know if her words can be heard over everything. The Sandslash, too, proved to be Terrans. The Leader doesn’t stay staring for long, for out of the corner of her eye she can see another attack are coming her direction. ”Drop, now! Avoid the flames!” The pokemon barely managed to veer sharply to the right on time, around the corner from where the one who’d fired the gun was, tilting to the side to avoid getting scorched. The end of one of its legs, though, was still burned. It made a mechanical sound – something like a groan. That was when the second attack hit. There had been a second attack that the Leader had failed to see. A water-type attack splashed into the belly of her Metagross, jolting the pokemon forward. The Leader felt her balance fail her, but there wasn’t anything she could do in that moment besides scrabble for a handhold on the front of her pokemon. She felt her shoulders pull as her fingers hook into the white cross on front of its face that she managed to grab to prevent herself from falling to the ground. ”Cannon!” Alyssa felt her pokemon tilt backwards in the air in an attempt to get its trainer back on its back. ”Double Team then Agility upwards! Give us an opening!” The pokemon obliged almost instantly, its body taking on a white glow before three illusionary copies of itself split from the original. The trio moved in a varying pattern in an attempt to confuse any onlookers. Then they split, the copies headed back around the corner towards the gunslinger. Alyssa gave a forceful swing to the left, hooking her left arm around the skinny, joint-part of the Metagross’ leg and clasping her hand over her shoulder for a better support than simply clinging to the cross on the Metagross’ face. Just in time, too. A burst of incredible speed forced gravity down like a never-before-encountered pressure on Alyssa’s body. The pokemon shot upwards like a rocket, its body mostly streamlined against the air as it rose floors. Fourty feet, sixty, seventy… was how high they got before the power of Agility ended. A gasp of breath escaped the Leader and she coughed. That was one thing she never wanted to experience again. The pokemon completed its ascent to the top of the building (only ten more feet) and dropped its trainer on the roof. Instantly, she fell to her knees. The vibrating in her pants made the leader pause for a moment to check her phone. She assumed it was someone in the fight. It was. Her eyes went wide with horror and her hands began to shake. Then the rage set in. Instantly, she texted Ruby back. The message had been sent less than a minute ago. Surely he would still have it in hand. Do NOT touch Devon Corp! The building is to remain STANDING, Ruby! Do you understand me? I order you not to destroy Devon Corp or so help me Arceus I will personally see to it you regret the severity your actions! She closed her phone and shoved it back in her pocket, standing. There was a momentary pause when a small explosion shook the building. It didn’t sound like a bomb, though. Possibly a pokemon attack. There wasn’t much time. It was time to take care of things in the Corporation. "Metagross, return." Alyssa pulled open the hatch leading from the stairwell indoors to the roof and jumped down it. Where was her spy network when she needed it most? |

NOTES Metagross uses Double Team + Agility as a getaway tactic. Illusions are sent to pester Hector. Alyssa lands on roof and enters Corp. // Metagross takes impact of Water Pulse, burned by Incinerate // lemme know if I missed anything OTL
