Elliot hadn't enjoyed a day this relaxing in over a year.
There wasn't too much to do in the sleepy town of Cianwood, but Elliot didn't mind. After all of the stress and excitement of his life, such a cooldown was almost necessary. And what better place to cool down than a city free from war? Cianwood's truce with Lux had ensured the town was spared, and their distance from Lux's settlements made the townspeople so much more relaxed. They adapted back to pre-war lifestyles, almost as if the war had never even happened.
As someone who had been a bit too close to the war for comfort, this was pretty much therapy for poor Elliot.
He laid down in the soft, warm sand, lulled into a trance by waves gently pounding onto the shore. A few of his Pokemon frolicked in front of him, his Swablu and Chimecho merrily playing tag in the air as his Marshtomp swam at the coastline. His Cacnea watched like a sentry, making sure none of them strayed too far and got hurt. The plant tried to look passive and uncaring, but Elliot knew better by now.
Normally the boy would join right in with his team's fun, but he was enjoying his tranquility a bit too much to go running around right now. It didn't help that his leg, previously mostly stable, had been acting up again ever since the incident at Cherrygrove. Running around and playing just wasn't on the boy's agenda lately.
Instead, he continued basking in the warm sun and listening to the melodies of nature. It was perfectly relaxing . . . maybe even too relaxing. With a yawn the boy slowly began to fall asleep, lulled by gentle breezes and the smell of seawater.
