Still, this time it seemed pretty legit, and she'd gone over to Olivine City just in case. When the attack finally came, she'd been inside a boutique, her rapidash saddled up outside waiting for her while she tried on the latest fashions in shoes. When Lux sounded its alarms, signaling that the city was under attack, she'd thrown a few large bills at the saleslady and sprinted out of the shop in sharp stiletto heels, abandoning her own trusty sneakers in the dressing room. With Chomp flying overhead, and Sol sneaking through the shadows on the ground, Platinum rode on her rapidash's back, her pokemon clearing the streets of whatever Nox grunts she passed. "Get inside!" she called, throwing herself and her mount bodily in front of civilians. "It's a battle here now! Go back to your homes and barricade your doors. Don't come out again until it's safe." Her garchomp screeched above, and Platinum looked up toward him. Chomp beelined towards the lighthouse, and one glance was all Platinum needed to see that the Nox forces were heading towards the tallest building in town. If the lighthouse fell, it wouldn't just be a message sent to Lux and Johto. The falling debris could decimate the city--were Nox mad? The livelihood of the town and the lives of its people were worth more than anything. Who in their right minds would destroy the lighthouse just to make a point? It wasn't ladylike to curse, but this time Platinum made an exception. "Dash, head after Chomp to the lighthouse. We've got Nox to take care of." The rapidash galloped through the streets, occasionally stopping to charge with a megahorn to break up battles in the streets, although Sol's sucker punches were usually enough to take the run-of-the-mill Nox grunt out of the battle. As Platinum drew closer to the lighthouse though, the trainers were getting stronger, and she didn't know what calibre of trainer she'd run into next. At the foot of the lighthouse, she pulled her rapidash to a halt, a fair battlefield's distance away from the next Nox trainer. She sized him up--an ace trainer? It looked like it, and even if not, this was no pokekid. "Stand down, please!"

The way that Lux wanted to control the people was just beyond Edge and he knew as well as anyone else that something needed to be done. That’s why as the ships approached Olivine City he looked out over the landscape, with a half smile on his face. Edge wasn’t the type to watch to hurt others, but he this was so much more than that. He needed to defend his home which was the nearby Goldenrod City. Johto was where he was born and raised, and had began his journey. No way was he going to allow Lux to crush the dreams of many trainers yet to come that would want to take control of their own journey the same way he’d done as a small ten year old boy. That was what he was fighting for here today. The ships crashed into the dock and Edge jumped off charging into the city. Blitz, his Pikachu was just ahead of him, running full speed on all fours. Their mission was straight forward, they needed to wake Lux up, and wake up the people by sending a message. He could see the tall lighthouse from where they were and that was his one and only destination. As much as he would hate to destroy such a landmark, Nox needed to do whatever they had to do to win this war. Blitz was able to single handedly take on many of the trainers that stood in Edge’s way as they made their move towards the lighthouse. Blitz had seen and battled just about every single species of pokemon out there, so even as a smaller pokemon he was able to handle himself very well on the battlefield. Someone had attempted to take Blitz out from above with a Staraptor, but without even receiving a command from Edge the little rodent dropped the bird with a massive Thunderbolt. Suddenly Blitz was struck from the side with a hard head butt, but in the end the move hurt its user more than Blitz. The Houndour had been left paralyzed by Blitz static which opened it up to a full on assault. A Thunderbolt followed by Slam was all it took to take the fire dog out. That was when Edge heard a nearby voice call out to him. Judging by the way the girl was dressed, her shoes at least, she hadn’t been prepared for this attack; unless she always battled in stiletto hills. He could see that she was a trainer though because she was riding on the back of a Rapidash. If they weren’t in the middle of a war the usual, charming edge would have come out, and probably flirted with the girl, but this was no time for games. There was destruction all around them, but Edge slowly walked closer to the girl, beaming with confidence. ‘The point won’t be made until Lux sees that what they’re doing is wrong! No one has the right to control what I do, not the gym leaders, not the elite four…and not you.’ Edge snatched two pokeballs from the holsters on his belt, and launched them releasing Tank, his Blastoise and Icicle, his Froslass. He always used the two in tandem when possible, and in the middle of a war was the perfect time for such a strategy. ‘Stand down for now Blitz. Icicle, use hail and cover as much of the city as you can in an ice storm. Tank, you know the usual strategy. The storm is your cover. Do what you can to take out that girl and her rapidash.’ Tank punched his hand into his fist as Froslass took to the sky. The clouds quickly rolled in as small flakes of ice began to fall from the sky. Quickly those small flakes grew in size and a white mist covered the surrounding area as the snow storm took full effect. Now it was Tanks turn. Now that her had cover from the storm he hid himself with his giant shell and suddenly took off like a bullet, water firing out of his shell as he used Aqua Jet to try and hit Rapidash. If the girl got in the way, she would simply just be another casualty. Suddenly Edge called out to the girl through the storm. ‘I don’t want to have to hurt you! Just back down and you can still walk away from this.’

Dash reared up as the aqua jet shot his way, the blast of water glancing him over the chest rather than striking a square blow. Still, the effectiveness of the water attack on the fire pokemon couldn't be shaken off so easily, despite the glancing blow. Platinum seized her chance to throw her leg over the rapidash's body and hop off his back and onto the ground. "Get a hold of yourself, Dash," she commanded, her hand running down the pokemon's graceful neck, trying to calm him down. "The battle's just beginning. Just avoid the blastoise, alright? There are other pokemon for you to fight." She turned her attention to the trainer now, shaking her head in confusion. "No one has a right to kill people, don't you see? All you're doing here is spreading fear and chaos. No one in this city has done anything wrong! They don't deserve war in their streets!" Chomp circled around again overhead, his survey of the lighthouse's situation complete. He spotted the pikachu and singled it out as his target, roaring to signal the start of his assault. He alighted on the ground, and it trembled beneath him, and that was all the warning anyone received before an earthquake began with Blitz at its epicenter. Platinum considered recalling her rapidash. Dash are carried through the city, and he had already gone through an entire morning's worth of riding around the route outside Olivine. She should've known better, should've rested her pokemon in preparation for a battle rather than go adventuring in high grass. She held Dash's head close, whispering encourage and orders to him. "Dash, just this one fight, alright? You can hold out for this long at least, we've gone through worse together! We don't want the froslass attacking Chomp's weaknesses. Run at her with a flare blitz. Go." She set Dash loose, and the fire pokemon took immediately to a gallop, weathering the hail with what looked like the last of his energy reserves. She winced, worrying that the sudden acceleration wouldn't be good for the rapidash's fatigued muscles, and the icy hail only made matters worse, but this was war, and you couldn't count on ideal conditions for battle. "Sol!" she yelled, and wherever the absol was hiding, she couldn't see her in the shadows. Good; she knew she could count on Sol to favor tactics of stealth and surprise. "Sucker punch on the pretty ghostie." The hail rained down, and a jagged shard of ice cut Platina in the shoulder. She winced but bore the pain. "You just attacked my pokemon," she called back in response, half accusation and half explanation. He was coming full force so if Blitz were to take his attack full on it definitely wouldn’t be a good thing, to put it lightly. No, instead if they were going to get hit, so would the Lux girl’s pokemon. Either the garchomp would halt his attack or risk injuring an ally. There wasn’t a second more to think, they had to act fast. ‘Quick Blitz, run straight towards her Rapidash!’ The yellow ball of fur bolted towards the flaming horse at full speed. Things were about to get explosive, that was for certain. As the Rapidash took off towards Icicle Blitz tried to intervene and slow him down with a Thunder Wave. Hopefully he would be left paralyzed and on top of it, now that Blitz was within range of the fire type, it only made sense that if Garchomp’s attack continued, the his partner would be hurt as well. Meanwhile Tank was fully prepared to keep up his attacks, after a somewhat successful Aqua Jet. ‘Tank, now it’s your turn again! Use Ice Beam on that garchomp and show em whose boss!’ As prepared as Edge was he hadn’t expected the Absol to launch out of the shadows and attack. Neither had Icicle from the looks of things, but luckily for her, she was a much speedier pokemon than the absol. The sucker punch attack hit her hard, but she was able to swiftly move back into the heart of the hail storm to avoid taking a full on direct hit. There was no mistaking it though, the hit hurt, that’s for sure. Edge couldn’t see where Froslass was due to the storm, and the deeper his other pokemon went into the storm he couldn’t see them either, but they’d trained in these conditions many times, so he knew they could handle themselves even if he couldn’t see exactly what was going on. ‘Okay Icicle, we’re gonna have to be more careful than that. Make sure you use that speed of yours to your advantage. Avoid the absol for now, and help tank by attacking that garchomp from the other side! Use an Ice Beam of your own!’ Tank pulled out both of his cannon’s and in tandem with Icicle fired off beams of ice, aimed directly for garchomp. Edge’s attack plan must have been clear at this point. He saw the dragon as the biggest threat and wanted to take it out as quickly as possible. With so much chaos happening on the battlefield it was hard to keep track of all the pokemon but Edge was an experienced trainer and this wasn’t enough to fluster him. ‘You’re in the middle of a war zone and you expect not to get attacked, Edge said turning his focus back to the female trainer. ‘You back down now and you don’t have to regret allowing your pokemon to get hurt. Whatever happens to them is on your hands.’[/style]

[/color] This ace trainer wanted to see a flare blitz and an earthquake happen all at once? Well, sometimes she liked explosions too.

The garchomp shrugged, being Chomp was the only one not worried about the two ice beams hurtling his way. Splaying his wings with a screech, he took off from the ground, leaping high up into the air to glower down at the battle below. The first ice beam missed him completely, covering the road in a layer of glistening ice, and the second struck Dash square on in the side instead of catching Chomp right before he took to sky. The garchomp wasn't particularly thankful, but he never was. He should've been though, and maybe Platina would talk to him about it after they got out of this mess.

The garchomp's earthquake shattered the street, sending fissures underfoot and stonework collapsing around them, and fire tore through anything that fell, although the fire didn't spread as the hail thankfully put out the flames. Platinum ducked under an alcove formed in the debris to keep the hail from slicing her apart, but the storm still rained down on her pokemon. Dash didn't mind it, but he did mind the ground giving away below him. Speedily, he stepped onto stronger pavement with grace, but he was put off balance and off guard, letting a thunder wave strike him unawares.

Dash had seen better days, and he was lucky that the ice beam wasn't terribly effective against his fiery body. To be fair, he'd seen much worse days too, especially when they had fought Team Galactic, though it seemed like this war was far worse than Team Galactic had ever been. The rapidash struggled to stay on his feet. "Dash, stay with me. Will-o-wisp the froslass,"[/color] Platinum commanded. Not needing to move, Dash sent a pale, unearthly flame towards the froslass.

"My pokemon have been hurt before,"[/color] she replied coolly.

Now, where was Sol? Back into the shadows, Platina figured, just where she belonged. This ace trainer obviously wanted to take out the garchomp first, and Chomp wouldn't last long against a battalion of ice beams. Dash wasn't a force she could count on anymore either. "Sol, use perish song."[/color]

This girl was the only real challenge that Edge had crossed paths with so far, but if things went according to plan, she wouldn’t be a nuisance for too much longer. A single of the ice beam attacks managed to hit their intended target, even if only a little. It was common knowledge that Dragons hated ice, so the storm would probably be an even bigger annoyance to her garchomp than it was to her other pokemon. Despite hating ice there was one thing that dragons hated just as much and Edge was about to bring that exact thing out to battle. Garchomp took the blow from one of the ice beam attacks, but followed through with his earthquake aimed at Blitz. Blitz was no fool; he knew he needed to move and fast. He followed her Rapidash’s lead after taking a strong amount of damage from the earthquake. It was super effective and with the battling Blitz had done to get to this point he was certainly on his last legs. He needed to get out of the fight or things would be bad for him. Edge pointed Blitz’s pokeball and returned the yellow rodent. It wasn’t often that Blitz was ever inside of his pokeball since Edge loved his company, but there wasn’t time to nurse him back to health at the moment. He still had business to take care of. The battle fell silent for a moment as Sol’s perish song ended and a time clock for all the pokemon on the field immediately began. Edge smirked and took a moment to speak with his foe once again. ‘I’ll admit you’re a lot more tough than I expected. You know, if we’d have met in some other circumstances I’d probably let you know just how cute you are. It’s too bad it had to be like this though. I think we’d get along pretty well too considering we already have something in common….A love for dragons.’ Edge released a pokemon to replace the ailing Blitz. It was Jet, his own garchomp. ‘Jet, take down her garchomp immediately with Dragons Claw!’ Jet, like most garchomp was extremely aggressive, especially when Edge was being threatened. The dragon pokemon spread his wings and took flight, going right after the opposing garchomp. His claws began to glow with a blue aura as he aimed to slashes, one after the other hoping to bring the other dragon down. Meanwhile, Froslass was struggling with the burn that had been inflicted upon her. There wasn’t much annoyance from the decreased attack since all of her attacks were special based, but the slow and painful death that it could cause was indeed annoying. For now she would have to deal with it though. ‘Icicle, help out Jet and fire off a Shadow Ball at just the right moment! Tank, Hydro Pump that rapidash!’ Tank’s cannon’s were locked and loaded once again as he fired off his most powerful aquatic attack at the horse. Icicle on the other hand flew up high watching and waiting for her chance to strike. Just as she saw an opening she hurled a ball of dark energy at the opposing garchomp, who was still the target of the majority of their attacks. Despite the way it looked Edge hadn’t forgotten about the absol. He was just biding time because he would be dealt with all in due time. [/style]

Chomp spotted the other garchomp as soon as it took to the field, but between them all, Platinum reacted first. "Chomp, outrage--now!" she yelled, voice projecting far up so Chomp could hear her. Careening around through the air, the mach pokemon shot through the air, returning to the battle, this time intent on rampaging everything in its path. If the other Garchomp wanted to get in range of an outrage, well, that was his call. She'd have to apologize to the Lux administrator here later for all the property destruction. She flushed pink inadvertently. She wasn't really used to receiving attentions of any sort, especially not during a battle. Galactic Grunts didn't make a habit of flirting. "I--um. Thanks?" The hydro pump struck the rapidash true, and Dash stumbled to the ground, his long legs giving away under him. "One last attack I ask from you, Dash: will-o-wisp on the Garchomp--and get the right Garchomp, Dash," she ordered even as she drew Dash's pokeball out of her bag. The fire pokemon came lightly up to his feet, his weight spread gingerly and breathed a pale, purple fire of will-o-wisp through the air. She didn't care whether the attack hit or not; Platinum whipped Dash's pokeball through the air, and the rapidash disappeared in a blaze of red light. Alright, Dash was out, but that left her Sol and Chomp, although Platina wasn't sure she could count Chomp as a fighter as he now stormed through the street, no longer at her control. Either the opponent's pokemon took Chomp out or the perish song would take effect before the outrage ended anyway. It brought a bit of a smirk to Edge’s face, as he knew the Rapidash was already beginning to fall to his knees. If the hit didn’t take the Rapidash out one more would probably do the trick. However, the female trainer knew her pokemon well enough to know that he was done for and returned him to his pokeball before he could faint. Just before doing so the fire pokemon fired off one last willow-wisp, but Edge was prepared for it this time around. His next move had been planned to counter the fit of outrage the girl’s garchomp was under but avoiding the willow-wisp was just as important. ‘Quick Jet, use Dig to avoid her pokemon!’ Jet shot down to the ground and he was gone within an instant. Edge had a plan and he didn’t see any way that it could possibly fail. It forced him to give up on the Dragon Claw attack but it would be well worth it in the end no doubt. That was when the Absol came back out of hiding. Edge had been expecting it this time around as had Icicle. They wouldn’t be fooled by the same attack setup twice. ‘Icicle avoid that sucker punch and attack back with Ice Beam!’ Icicle dodged backwards as the sucker punch attempt came at her. Quickly she fired off her beam of ice, hoping to hit her target before he could escape to hiding again. Tank wouldn’t be left out o the fun though. He watched the garchomp outrage through the streets, and knew as long as he kept a good distance he’d be fine. He made eye contact with Edge, and all Edge needed to do was nod his head. Tank prepared his cannon’s once ore and fired off two beams of ice aimed for the pissed off dragon type pokemon. It was 3 on 2 now, and Edge was going to take full advantage of that. He hadn’t forgotten about the Perish Song. He would make sure this girl knew it was a terrible mistake on her part. 'Using perish song was a bad idea. You realize that move is suicide. Especially using it against someone like me.' [/style]

Sol stepped to the side, letting the ice beam careen into a building, further reducing it to shambles. This battle really wasn't going easy on the street, and Platinum felt horrible for the locals. They definitely didn't deserve to have all their homes and shops and roads destroyed, but there was no avoiding it now. There was already battle at hand, and it had to be fought. Reaching into her purse, she selected another pokeball, gripping it tightly as she considered if it was the best to release another pokemon now or wait until later. At the last second, she changed her mind, letting go of her lucario's pokeball to choose Voir's instead. Throwing it down to the ground in front of her, a gardevoir appeared in a haze of red light standing next to Platinum's side, a safe distance from the chaos. "Voir, use Wish Chomp, I need him to stay up for a bit longer."

Chomp's wounds began to heal as Voir worked her magic. The icy scars retreated from his skin, although the new ice beam glanced him as he trampled debris underfoot. Luckily, Chomp didn't seem like he was in a state where he could even recognize pain. Her garchomp continued his outrage towards the froslass, smashing everything in its way, and Platinum approved. She wanted to keep all her pokemon gathered together, so when this Jet resurfaced from underneath the ground, he'd have to face Chomp's outrage unless he wanted to give up another attack.

Alternatively, she supposed Jet could appear to attack Voir, and in preparation for that, Platinum reached for her hand revolver, barely three inches in the barrel. It wasn't much, but it'd be enough to do some damage if the enemy garchomp wanted to dig back up so close to her.

"I know how Perish Song works,"[/color] Platinum said coolly. It wasn't a gamble in her opinion, it was insurance in many ways. Her pokemon could go all out now until the song took effect, and she could rest assured that even if she ignored the blastoise entirely, it wasn't long for the world. The ace trainer's garchomp alone hadn't heard the song, which meant she should focus her efforts on weakening it now and allow the others to linger until time took its toll. "Sol, wait for the dragon to resurface, and say hello with a psycho cut."[/color]

He could hear and feel everything that was going on above him, and he wanted back into the fight. It was only a matter of time before outrage turned into a mistake for their opponent. Soon he would succumb to confusion and would be just as likely to harm himself as he was to harm one of Edge’s pokemon. Combine that with the hail storm that was certainly going to be affecting him and things were looking up for Edge. Her garchomp would be down in no time, and if by some chance they couldn’t quickly take it out, perish song would be in effect very soon. This battle was about to get turned upside down in a matter of moments. Edge was no fool though. He’d waited long enough and now was the time to make his move. ‘Tank one last Hydro Pump! This time on her gardevoir! And Icicle, Shadow Ball, same target!’ The attacks were fired off within an instant, but Edge didn’t have time to let his pokemon see if their attacks would land on the angelic pokemon or not. Just as quickly as they’d made their moves they were returned to their pokeball’s. Edge reached down o his belt where his other pokemon rested, but waited instead of sending in a new duo right away. Jet was safely hidden for now. He had time to wait for outrage to be outlasted, for perish song to take effect and to see what possible move his opponent might use next. If she was as predictable as he thought then her garchomp was as good as defeated. He looked across the battlefield as the hail storm began to clear away with Froslass officially back in her pokeball. His opponent was a strong trainer, no doubt, but he could definitely see flaws in her battle style. She was quick to take risk. Using moves like perish song and outrage wasn’t something to be done so frivolously. Edge has seen the moves used well before but this wasn’t one of those times. Typically perish song was best used when an opponent didn’t have any alternate pokemon to switch in. They’d be forced into a timed battle, but as long as they could switch the move was all but useless. Something similar could be said of outrage. Certainly a powerful move, but better left to last minute moments. Outrage was a move to finish off an opponent, not in the middle of the match. Perhaps this was her style though, and Edge was just underestimating the girl. ‘It’s almost time Jet…’ Quickly Edge’s attention cut back to the female opponent standing across from him. 'I truly wish we didn’t have to battle. How could someone so beautiful…someone like you join with Lux? You don’t look like the type to let others tell you what to do.’ [/style]

Voir, despite her grace, didn't have Platinum's reflexes, and the hydro pump blasted her into the air, thankfully blowing her out of the trajectory of the shadow ball. Voir landed with the bare modicum of grace, whirling into a comfortable stop onto the rooftop of a still-standing home. "Use wish, Voir, on yourself now. Try to stay out of line of sight from now on, we don't want his pokemon taking easy potshots at you,"

[/color] Platinum called up to her.

Then perish song finally took effect. Still outraging, Chomp abruptly fell into unconsciousness, folding to the ground even as Platinum returned him to his pokeball. Sol, knowing her time was up, trotted back to Platinum's side, giving her an affectionate nuzzle and a quixotic snerk towards Voir before she settled down, as if taking a long-due nap. With a quick hug, Platinum returned her to her pokeball too.

Reaching now for her lucario's pokeball, and Leon's too, Platinum threw the two pokeballs out one at a time, aiming them both far away from her, but also far from each other. She didn't want the garchomp resurfacing to strike an easy blow at the two of them at once. Rio the lucario and her empoleon appeared out of their pokeballs' red light, both of them ready for a fight. Rio stood atop a delicate precipice, the remains of a electricity pole, far above the ground. Leon appeared above stone rubble. Platinum worried a little because both of them were vulnerable to ground type attacks, but Dig wasn't the strongest of them, and she figured they could handle one such blow.

With nothing for them to attack, Platinum issued her commands, "Leon, start with an aqua ring--be ready to dodge if the garchomp shows up again. Rio, swords dance, and prepare to extremespeed the first pokemon you see."[/color]

As her pokemon prepared themselves, she turned her attention to the ace trainer. He was... kind of cute, for being Nox. "I believe in Lux. I know we haven't perfect, but we're trying the best we can to make people's lives better,"[/color] she answered, although she wasn't as informed as he claimed. She knew of some of Lux's stricter laws, but she'd always been told to steer clear of Lux's disaster zones, like Saffron City. And what Lux told her to do, she obeyed without question, so Platinum had never had a chance to see Lux's darker sides.

Her Rapidash, Garchomp, and Absol were all through. That put him up six to three. Granted Blitz was barely able to stand before he’d taken the electric rodent out of the fight. Okay so five to three, but that still put him at an advantage. Right now though, he had choices to make. She now had a Gardevoir, a Lucario and an Empoleon in the battle. Jet was still roaring and ready to go, just waiting for the moment Edge would have him strike from beneath the ground. There was the possibility that Empoleon might know an ice move or two so Jet would need to be aware of the penguin pokemon at all times. Lucario and Gardevoir weren’t huge threats to the dragon though. There was also the fact that her Empoleon and Lucario shared a weakness to Garchomp’s ground typing. That would certainly prove to be effective if he ever caught the two near one another. The only question was which of his other pokemon would he have join Jet? He could possibly send Tank back out since he’d taken very little damage if any at all in what he considered the first round of the battle. Tank was still completely prepared to fight, but that offered little surprise. Then there was Nova, his infernape. Nova could do massive damage to both Empoleon, and Lucario thanks to his diverse move-set, but that still left the Gardevoir. Last but not least there was Terra, who didn’t hold an advantage over any of her pokemon, but she did have the advantage of flight, something that could prove quite beneficial. That was it, his decision had been made and he already had a plan of attack based on their surroundings. He’d also heard the girl call out her plan of attack so if he was quick enough they could counter and take the advantage. ‘Now Jet! Resurface next to the Lucario, but don’t bother attacking with dig. Just hit the ground hard for an Earthquake!’ The battle was silent, if only for a moment, but suddenly Jet erupted from beneath the ground and quickly taking flight, only to come charging right back down to the ground. He would be more than willing to take the damage from Extreme Speed if it meant landing a supereffective attack. They weren’t done just yet though. Before Jet could even hit the ground, Edge had tossed out a second pokeball releasing the fastest pokemon on his team, Nova. ‘Follow up Jet’s attack with another Earthquake! Jet, take to the skies! ’ As Jet finished unleashing his own earthquake attack he flew up into the skies just avoiding Nova’s earthquake that split the ground mere moments after his own. Edge then followed up by tossing out yet another pokeball, this time releasing Terra his pidgeot who stayed far above the battle looking down and surveying what was taking place. ‘Help your partners out by using Tail Wind Terra!’ Terra, Jet and Nova began to glow with a blue aura. The color grew into a deeper blue the more the flying type flapped her wings. All of them got a massive speed boost. Edge saw this as a way of making sure her pokemon couldn’t keep up. None of the pokemon she had on the field were known for their speed, especially Empoleon, but the addition of Tail Wind would make it even more difficult for them to keep up. It was safe to say that this battle was heating up. ‘Lux is completely in the wrong, and they’ve forced our hand. As a member of Nox I refuse to bend to the tyrannical power that the gym leaders, champions and elite four think they have over us. As a trainer you should understand that free will in the end is what it truly means to be a pokemon trainer.’ [/style]

In fact, now that she thought about it, she'd worn stiletto heels in far worse occasions. Why not fire a full round if she could? Platinum was a Lux supporter from Sinnoh--by now, she knew a thing or two about war, and the first rule of thumb was to seize every opportunity that came by. Putting a sharp heel on the sturdiest standing debris in front of her, she climbed up to the rooftop as gracefully as she could given the circumstances. Her feet hit the rooftop shingles with a staccato sound as she made her way closer to the battle, not afraid of being caught in the crossfire even as the hail rained down on her. The ace trainer's pokemon might enjoy a boosted speed now, but it didn't much matter. She reached to her purse, a plan forming in her mind now, although it seemed wild even to her. Up above, Rio knew the garchomp was back as soon as the ground trembled, and he sped off toward the ground, striking with his prepared extremespeed. Pulling out Rio's pokeball, Platinum hurled it at the lucario, the pokemon himself startled to return to his pokeball even as he started feeling the effects of the earthquake's tremors. "Leon! Use icy wind--don't worry about me,"

[/color] she yelled as she drew closer to the garchomp.

"Voir? Now's the time to join the fray, use hypnosis all around you,"[/color] Platinum commanded, voice calm and unshaking even as the temperature around her dropped as hail and icy winds surrounded her. While Rio was safe from the hypnosis, Leon tilted his head, falling into a quiet stupor before falling asleep as the hypnosis played out all around the gardevoir.

She pointed the barrel of her gun straight at the garchomp, although now it was harder to see with the hail and wind all around her, and it was even harder to aim with the earthquake below. Still, she'd fought through worse; her memories of Giratina and the Distortion World still haunted her more than any battle of the war, past or present. Far closer to the ace trainer now, she could talk to him without yelling across the entire length of the street that served as their battlefield. "I am a human before I am a trainer, and as a human being, all I can tell you is that attacking a city of innocents is a horrible thing to do. This isn't Viridian or Vermillion! If terrifying civilians is what free will is, then no one needs it!"[/color]

Numb to the cold now, Platinum's gunarm held steady at the garchomp. As the earthquake began to subside and the icy wind cleared, she whirled, pointing the barrel of the gun at the ace trainer instead. Her revolver carried six shots, and she emptied them all, her free hand already moving to her purse to retrieve a fresh round.

In the past Edge had been called reckless. He was someone who had battle plans of course but for the most part liked to let his pokemon get a feel for each individual battle and just go with the flow. He was definitely a free spirit, but he still didn’t go out into a battle throwing out commands without truly thinking them through. At first he though this girl had some sort of strategy, but now he could see that she was simply going beyond recklessness. Why would she be willing to put her own pokemon to sleep or even take the risk? Granted, hypnosis was a move known for its high failure rate but risking your own pokemon succumbing to the move? It was a dangerous move to say the least and even Edge had to shake his head at it. That of course wasn’t the most reckless thing his opponent had in mind though. Edge watched as the girl returned her Lucario to his pokeball. Hmph, he thought to himself. Desperate times call for desperate measures. Taking two consecutive earthquakes could take out any pokemon, especially one that had a weakness to ground type attacks. The maneuver made Edge laugh a little, but he kept his composure. This was war after all. Her Lucario managed to avoid the attacks, but the tail wind had taken full effect. Even Edge was a little excited to see how fast Jet and Nova would be moving. Both species were known for having high speeds, but with a tail wind boost it would be more than impressive. Her first move was to use Icy Wind. Smart. It was the strongest ice attack, but it was probably the most effective move her current team could use against Jet. That had also given away one of her secrets though. Edge had predicted that her Empoleon would know an Ice attack, and he now knew it was Icy Wind. He’d feared it’d be an Ice Beam, thank goodness it wasn’t. The wind fell into a cool chill, with sharp pieces of ice flying through the air. The attack managed to hit Jet, while Edge other pokemon were too far away to feel the effects. Her next move was Hypnosis…on everyone. Edge couldn’t believe she’d do something like that but yes it had happened. Again with the amount of distance between Edge’s pokemon and her own at this point made it difficult for a move that already failed on a consistent basis to really be effective. However, Jet was again the one target that was affected by the attack. Slowly the dragon pokemon began to lower himself to ground level. This wasn’t good at all. As if a sudden calm had taken over him, he fell into slumber. Edge wasn’t going to let Jet be a sitting target. It was time to bring out a move they’d practiced many times in the past. As Jet lowered himself the girl began shooting at Edge with what looked like a small pistol. Luckily she didn't have the greatest aim but as the last shot was fired it just barely missed Edge, grazing his side and putting a hole in his favorite jacket. Edge couldn’t believe it. This girl was asking for trouble, Perhaps Jet would have an appetite for Lux when he awoke? ‘Time to bring out the big guns guys! Nova, use flamethrower into Terra’s Hurricane! Terra, that’s your main target!’ Edge pointed directly towards the Gardevoir, letting it be known who he wanted to hit. Empoleon was sleeping so if they could take out Gardevoir he’d be wide open for Nova to move in with Close Combat. Nova unleased his flamethrower attack as Terra began flapping her wings with an awesome power. Each flap seemed to grow in strength until a giant vortex had formed. It was magnificent to behold, and Edge’s pride could be seen on his face as he watched the pokemon he’d trained from just a pidgeotto. The attacks combined into one, forming what began a gigantic tornado of fire. Debris from the war as pulled into the attack as it all spun and moved straight towards gardevoir. This was what triple and double battles were all about. ‘Let’s see you get out of this one.’ Edge crossed his arms over his chest to watch the events play out. [/style]

In pain, she looked back towards Platinum, who immediately started moving through battlefield toward her. The equation was simple in her mind: her pokemon was hurt. She needed to be there for them, not just emotionally but physically. What good could she do? Not much--she wasn't equipped with heal pulse, but that wasn't the point. The point was that her first priority was always her pokemon and their well-being. Platinum didn't believe in staying still on sidelines, not in the middle of a battle that she herself decided to join. The little handgun wasn't much, a semi-automatic built lighter than usual with an aluminum frame. It was, quite frankly, a lady's gun, inasmuch as a military sidearm could ever be a lady's gun. It made her a soldier though, and that meant she had no right to stay a safe distance away. She past to the sleeping garchomp, approaching the gardevoir. Taking Voir's hand, limp and growing colder by the moment, Platinum apologized to her in a soft whisper. The gardevoir's psychic consciousness brushed her mind, but Platinum recalled her to her pokeball before she could say anything telepathically. She called Leon too, letting the sleeping empoleon rest inside now. It wouldn't be Leon that decided this battle; she didn't need him on the field, not when he was vulnerable after the hypnosis. Indeed, the range of hypnosis wasn't huge, but it struck the garchomp, and that was good enough for her. The garchomp was only steps away and Platinum closed that distance momentarily. "You said you had a love for dragons? Good. So do I."

Alone on the field now, she stood gun was reloaded. Six bullets didn't amount to much, but at point-blank range, Platinum didn't need more than one. "This war belongs to humans, trainer, not our pokemon. Does it really matter to them who runs the world? Does it matter to them if you're free? You've been training at least as long as I have--you're obviously very strong. So why do you think it's your freedom that makes you who you are?"[/color] she asked.

"Tell me! Is it freedom that gives your pokemon strength? Or is it the bond you share with them?"[/color]

Platinum leveled the barrel of her gun not at Jet's temple, but at one of his sleeping eyes. Perhaps the pokemon's tough skin could stop a bullet, but at this distance, it would still hurt. She didn't want to kill the garchomp--she hoped she wouldn't, but this was war and shit happens, both of them could understand that--Platinum would sooner blind it.

"Because I think it's your love for them that drives you more than your free will,"[/color] she said. If he thought she'd taken gambles before in this battle, then there wasn't a word for this. Yet in many ways, this was the least of the risks she'd taken so far. What genuine trainer, one that'd survived through thick and thin with their pokemon at their sides, would risk their own pokemon? "Would you rather I pull the trigger here? Or would you rather leave this lighthouse be? You can't have both!"[/color]

She waited, finger on the trigger. Maybe he'd order his pokemon to attack. That was fine; she'd see them coming, and as blazing fast as his pokemon were now, she could pull a trigger before their attacks reached her. Platinum waited for the trainer's response.
