Protecting What Is Dear [battle: Silver]

Leaf walked around Johto's own Olivine City. She hadn't ever payed much attention to the city, but when she heard that Nox had planned to target Olivine's own Lighthouse she'd signed up right quick to defend it. Yes, fighting for rights was one thing Leaf could deal with, but trying to ruin something the people held dear? That was something Leaf could not tollerate. She would do everything in her power to keep the Lighthouse and people safe. She'd begun surrounding the the area and hurrying residents inside.

"This isn't the time to be playing out. Inside please for your own safety." Leaf said rushing people in. Most listened as they reconized her for her fame and rushed inside. Leaf, satisfied that she'd managed to get most of the citizens inside, started off towards the beach of Olivine where she figured the Nox operatives would be coming in. Leaf saw the water and gulped. Great... she hadn't quite thought of that... On a beach her opponent just might use a water Pokemon. Leaf took a breath and shook her head. No! This was for the people of Lux and Olivine! She had to do her job as Sentinel and take care of every single Nox who wished to cause harm to the city.

Grabbing a Pokeball she released it in the air and a bright light flashed as Shocky, her Raichu, popped out and looked up at Leaf. She bent town and rubbed the Electric Pokemon's head.

"Lets take care of these guys, okay? Do anything you have to. Remember we have to keep the people safe most of all." Leaf said and worried that this skirmish might not end out so peaceful as she had prayed for the past few days it might. Standing up, Leaf checked to make sure they were prepared and started toward the beach. She saw a red haired boy clothed in black that she hadn't been informed of as a ally. She had met with all her allies before this so he must be a Nox.

"Sparky! Surround him with Double Team!" She said and watched as the Raichu started to run around the boy and several coppies of itself appeared as Leaf watched to see the boys reaction.

His eyes scanned the empty port city ahead. “…It’s changed quite a bit.”[/b] The way he remembered it, the place was always bright with a very positive vibe to it, packed with hearty sailors getting ready to depart on their next big voyage, and ecstatic tourists, glad that they had the opportunity to come to such a pleasant place. That city was gone now, replaced by nothing more than a bleak warzone. The atmosphere hung heavy, and everything just looked gray. Truly fitting for what was about to happen here.

A hulking, armored green mass stood behind Silver, weighing down the boat ever so slightly. The monstrous beast let out a low growl in the back of it’s throat, eager for combat. ”Easy now, Havoc,”[/b] Silver told the Tyranitar in a quiet voice. “Be patient. There’ll be trouble soon. I can feel it.”[/b] He was perfectly aware that waltzing about with such a towering companion right by his side was far from inconspicuous. But he figured (or hoped, rather) that the sand was soft enough to mask the sound of the Rock-type’s footsteps. It was a precautionary measure, just in case there were any Lux troops deployed on the beach, hiding and lying in wait.

Silver let out a heavy sigh as he searched the shore ahead for his a target to draw first blood on, the boat drawing ever nearer to the city. It felt like it was taking an eternity to get there. “I just joined this damn organization, and I’m thrust into battle already,”[/b] he commented, more to himself than anybody else. “What have I gotten myself into?”[/b] Returning to the situation at hand, he turned to Havoc. “Remember Havoc, the goal is to destroy the lighthouse,”[/b] he commanded with authority. “Break whatever or whoever you need to in order to get there, but remember, that is your priority.”[/b]

Havoc nodded vigorously in response to this order, ready to pulverize anything and everything in it’s path. After what seemed like hours, the boat finally drew upon the shore. Silver cautiously stepped down into the soft, grainy sand, with the Tyranitar following suit. Miraculously, the sand managed to dull the sound of the heavy beast’s landing. As the rest of the Nox troops onboard with him on that particular vessel scattered, Silver strolled in the general direction of the lighthouse, hoping to find some sort of secure pathway where he could enter unnoticed. He’d have to return Havoc when they got off the beach. The sand was doing a decent enough job hiding the sound of his gargantuan footsteps, but concrete would hardly be able to do the same.

The red-haired trainer hadn’t been walking for two minutes when he heard a female voice shout something not too far away. ”Who-?”[/b] he began before finding himself completely surrounded by several identical Raichu. Keeping his vision steady, Silver slipped his hands into his pockets, calm as can be. ”So it begins,”[/b] he spoke softly, with a subtle menacing edge to his voice. “Just as I told you, Havoc, we ran into some trouble. Now how about we blind these overgrown rats with a Sandstorm?”[/b] he instructed the Tyranitar.

Little bits of sand began to float through the air as Havoc growled dangerously. Suddenly, the number of particles began to increase, until the entire battlefield was enveloped in a tannish-brown vortex. Knowing what to expect, Silver shut his eyes, preventing any from getting into his eyes. He couldn’t see the battlefield, but his opponents were hardly in a better situation. The only thing that could see clearly was the Tyranitar.

Havoc eyed the Raichu around him warily, trying to discern which he should attack first. Two glowing blue rings began to form around the Tyranitar, making it slightly easier to track the Pokemon’s whereabouts in the heavy sand. Suddenly, the rings dissipated, replaced with many sharp, sturdy rocks, floating in the air eerily like a bunch of small specters. With a great roar, Havoc made a slashing motion with it’s right arm, causing all of the stones to fly towards the Raichu directly in front of it with great velocity. She cursed and drew out a her Pokeball. Sparky's speed would do nothing if they couldn't attack. All his electric type moves wouldn't affect teh Tyranitar. Quickly throwing up the Pokeball she struggled to see and Wack appeared. The Marowak had no problem seeing through the Sandstorm. Leaf knew that wasting the turn would lesson her chance on finishing off the Nox member quickly but she would rather protect her Pokemon than lose one of them to Lux. Though, Leaf feared that might happen one day. Giving up on trying to see, she nodded to Whack who ran off into the Sandstorm. He could function in the sandstorm and even cameflouged into it unlike the green Tyranitar that the Marowak could see clearly from behind its mask. Deciding to try a sneak attack the Marowak stayed silent and hefted its bone behind him and swung it toward the Tyranitar in a Boomerang attack and waited. He had very good aim and had practice it since he was a Cubone. Wondering how the Tyranitar would react he laid in wait. Leaf hated no being able to see and had been tempted to bring out Briar so he could just pummel Grass type attacks on the Tyranitar but had decided against it to avoid injury. Usually Leaf would be able to look for weaknesses by watching the trainer as well as the Pokemon. But this time she was completely in the dark with no way to tell except to let Whack handle the battle until the Sandstorm died down. [/style]

What a waste of a perfectly-good attack. Not only did it just expend valuable energy, but now the huge armored Pokemon had no idea where it’s opponent had gone. The Tyranitar’s eyes began to carefully scan the area, searching for where the other Pokemon disappeared to like a predator looking for it’s next meal. It wouldn’t be too long before Havoc could track it down. After all, it’s hard to hide from something you can’t see.

Havoc’s eyes narrowed as it’s search held no results. It was almost as if the Raichu had just been plucked off of the battlefield… With this thought, the Tyranitar’s eyes widened, a look of realization setting into them. The rodent must’ve been called back to it’s Pokeball! Perhaps the trainer had fled after recalling her precious Pokemon? That would probably be the most logical assumption, not many trainers would want to stick around in a terrain they couldn’t see.

A curious sound, similar to something flying through the air, reached Havoc’s ears. The huge beast began to turn towards it, only to have the notion that the other trainer fled quite literally smacked out of it’s mind by a bone cutting through the sand-filled air like a knife. By turning it’s head, it managed to avoid the brunt of the attack, only catching it on the side of it’s face rather than the center, but it still left a mark on the Pokemon. Letting out a berserk roar as it’s temper blazed out of control, Havoc identified the source of the attack: a Marowak.

Havoc took a second to size up it’s opponent. An Earthquake would surely be the most effective move to use against it, as it would both pack a serious punch and be hard to avoid. However, the sandy battleground would absorb the impact of it, ruling it out as an option. Crunch was another possibility, but it could let loose quite a few more Bonemerangs before the Tyranitar could actually get within striking range. With a great war cry, Havoc took the only action that made sense: sent another wave of pointed rocks in the Marowak’s direction with a devastating Stone Edge.

The sound of a Pokemon being returned to it’s Pokeball touched Silver’s eardrums. Immediately following it was the sound of another one being released, although the distance made it impossible to determine the direction it came from. Switching out so early?[/color] he thought curiously. I have a feeling she’s sending out something a bit more well-suited to a sandstorm… Silver flinched as a loud THWAK rang out from Havoc’s general direction. …Thought so. It'd done alright for a surprise attack but now he had two problems. One Leaf was blind and Whack had never really battled on his own before. The other one was the Tyranitar now knew his location. Gripping the bone tight in his left hand he braced himself. He saw the large rock hurling from the sky towards him. The rock hit and Whack let out a cry as he fell back. Leaf let out a worried cry afraid that Whack was in trouble while she couldn't do a thing. Stranded there helpless while her pokemon struggled. It would take only a little more time for the storm to die down. When it did they'd be going full out attack mode. For now she'd trust in Whacks abilities to battle by himself. Getting up from his fall he rolled out his neck and picked up his bone. It'd done exactly what Whack had wanted. He was mad. He built on that anger and bult it into his bone and rushed toward the Tyranitar with blind rage as he preformed a powerful rage attack. He might not be as fast as Sparky but that didnt mean he couldnt do hand to hand battling and rely on several far away attacks. [/style]

It was starting to feel the effects of the Bonemerang strike a little earlier, a lightheaded sensation creeping into it’s colossal skull. It was starting to feel reinvigorated at the sight of it’s opponent’s pain, however. Perhaps the Pokemon wasn’t able to take too many more hits, but it was resolved to land at least another big one before it went down, even if that meant rushing in recklessly berserker-style. If it couldn’t down Whack, Havoc would at least leave it sore.

Silver felt the small particles of sand brushing against his face slowly begin to diminish in speed, frequency and force. The sandstorm’s clearing up,[/color] he noted mentally, still keeping his eyes tightly shut to prevent one of the small grains from slipping into his eyes and impairing his vision even longer. I should probably get around to switching Havoc out once it ends. That strike from earlier sounded bad. I’m sure he wasn’t expecting to face something that could see him… Silver silently hoped that Havoc knew what it was doing. He hoped even more powerfully that the Tyranitar didn’t get carried away and start rampaging throughout the entire city, destroying everything.

Havoc observed the enraged Marowak as it charged in the Tyranitar’s direction, hoping to score an attack. The sight of it was enough to get the Rock-type’s adrenaline rising. Barring it’s teeth with an evil look on it’s face, it took a couple swift steps backwards, lowering it’s body and pointing it’s head at the opponent. Then, with a great burst of speed, it propelled towards Whack like a large green missile. The plan was to meet the opponent’s attack head on, and respond with one of it’s own; in this case, a Crunch.

As Havoc was a split-second away from colliding with the Marowak, it summoned up all of it’s power and attempted to land a Crunch on the small Ground-type’s shoulder, it’s teeth gnashing together with unbelievable force. At the same time, it felt the full force of the Rage attack, causing even more energy to ebb away from it’s monstrous body. Since it was only the first Rage attack used, it didn’t manage to knock the Dark-type out, but any subsequent, powered-up repeats of the move would surely spell the end for Havoc in this battle. Fear began to stir deep within Silver’s gut as he heard the thunderous impact of the two Pokemon coming together. He hoped Havoc was the one delivering that blow, rather than the one recieving. Leaf felt the sand particular soften, and start to slow down. Was the sandstorm starting to lessen? She'd have to act quickly if so. She'd only have that split moment to act. Leaf listened carefully as she heard the sounds of the battles. She hoped that Whack would be okay and not injured too badly. This was a war so Leaf knew her Pokemon would not come out unscathed.

On the battlefield, Whack gave out a call as the Tyranitar's teeth pierced into the Marowaks skin. In quick retaliation Whack swung his bone to the Tyranitar's head in the signature move of the cubone line, bone club. Or so it seemed.

Whack escaped from the grip of the Tyranitars teeth and took a moment. Adreniline was rushing through him now, that chemical that kept him quick on his feet. He'd have to make it count. Adrenaline was all good in a battle until it left and you were spent. If Whack hit the stage he was as good as dead. He'd have to make sure that didn't happen. Gathering all the energy he had left he charged toward the Tyranitar with another Rage attack aiming for a hard hit. He had to give it his all. He most likely have to resort back to far away tactics after this. Which would be fine since he'd delivered strong hits already that must have harmed the Tyranitar surely.

The sandstorm was coming to an end very soon. This elicited a sigh of relief from the trainer, who had been worried about how the battle was going so far. I know for a fact that Havoc can handle himself,[/color] he thought with confidence. But he’s the only one of my Pokemon that can do any sort of significant damage to the lighthouse. If he’s at risk of being taken out, I have to switch him out immediately.

As Havoc’s teeth clamped over the Marowak’s shoulder, the Tyranitar clenched it’s jaws together even harder than before, planning to hold on to it’s opponent for as long as possible. That plan went straight south the second the huge green Pokemon noticed it’s much-smaller enemy lift up it’s bone. Another hit from that would mean lights out for the Ground-weak Pokemon. Figuring that a few more seconds of damage wasn’t worth getting knocked out, Havoc released it’s grip, throwing it’s head back to get it as far away as possible from the attack.

The Tyranitar realized too late that it was just a trick, however. Returning to it’s original battle stance, the first thing it saw was the Marowak coming straight for it with yet another Rage attack. All Havoc could do was growl at the sight. It was too tired at this point to carry it’s massive girth far enough and fast enough to avoid being hit. All it could do was take the hit and hope that it wouldn’t be quite enough to take it down…

As the particles of sand began to cease colliding with his tightly-shut eyelids, Silver’s eyes snapped open. It took but a brief moment to understand the scene quite clearly. Havoc was fatigued, and the opponent’s Pokemon, a Marowak, was about to land a not-exactly-gentle attack on it. Without taking a single breath or uttering a single word, he snatched up Havoc’s Pokeball and pegged it in the Tyranitar’s direction, the Pokemon responding with a surprised look, returning it with a bright blue flash. Sorry, Havoc,[/color] Silver thought, catching the Pokeball as it flew back towards him while simultaneously taking out Lockjaw’s containment. I’d have let you finish the battle, but I need you to take out the target. You’re the only one I have with me that can put a dent in it. You’re going to have to stay out of conflict until we get there…[/i]

“You’re up, Lockjaw,”[/b] Silver muttered in a low voice, casually tossing the Pokeball to the floor. Upon impact, the large blue alligator sprung out of the flash, already dashing at the opponent before even getting an order. Upon seeing this, a small smirk made it’s way to the trainer’s face. Looks like you’re as reliable as ever, he mused with great approval. The expression was only there for a brief moment, disappearing as quickly as it appeared, replaced with Silver’s usual determined glare.

“Lockjaw! Hit it with an Aqua Tail!”[/b] Silver commanded the Feraligatr. A vortex of water completely envelope Lockjaw’s tail as it continued to charge the Marowak. As soon as it got within range, the Water-type lunged towards it’s enemy, swinging it’s tail at it at maximum force.

Soon Leaf noticed the sand was no more. Leaf quickly reached to her belt and grabbed Briar’s Pokeball. Whack must be tired or hurt. A Tyranitar was no easy foe Whack probably was very hurt as she was sure Nox was a gruesome foe to go against.
“Whack! Get out of there!” Leaf said and hollered but saw it was too late. She saw that there was now a Feraligator on the battle field. A Johto trainer? leaf wondered with a quizzical glance. Whatever the matter Briar was Leaf’s strongest Pokemon as well as a Grass type which would give her an advantage, hopefully enough of an advantage to stop the boy. Looking at her faithful Marowak though, she could only watch as he was flown back by the Aqua Tail.
“Whack!” She called out and dove to catch the unconscious Marowak. It was then she saw he was bleeding on his shoulder. It looked to be from some kind of gash mark. Probably an attack from the Tyranitar. Leaf quickly fumbled for Whack’s Pokeball and returned him. So they’d injured Whack… That was not okay and now Leaf was pissed.
She grabbed Briar’s Pokeball and flung it onto the field. With a bright flash of light the Venusaur emerged and let out a huge roar. He made his position and looked at the Feraligator. So this was to be his opponent. It wasn’t very often that Leaf put him to use in this war. Since she had though, he’d go through for her until the end.
“Briar! Let’s show them! Hit em up with a Solarbeam!” Leaf shouted. She saw the boy clearly now. He looked younger than she did and his face familiar. She couldn’t place where though. Decided she could only do one thing: wait and see what would happen.

A perfect shot, just as the alligator expected. The Pokemon knew that it had the advantage here, with the ocean not being too far away from the battlefield. Just knowing that the motion of waves occurred within walking distance was enough to fill the Feraligatr with intense morale. If things did manage to get dangerous, it could always hide in the water while Silver stalled with another Pokemon. Truly an advantageous situation, now that the sandstorm was gone.

Silver, however, did not feel the same joy as Lockjaw felt at seeing the Marowak fall. The stone-cold, serious expression remained on his face, not even a single sign of giddiness perturbing it. He shot a quick glance at the opposing trainer for the first time during this entire battle. So this is the trainer that nearly took down Havoc… And probably would have, had I not withdrawn him,[/i] he though. She’s much more skilled than she looks… If I had managed to catch a glimpse of her before the battle started, I might have underestimated her…[/i]

As the opposition sent out a Venusaur, Silver tapped his chin thoughtfully. “A Venusaur… Those are only native to Kanto, he thought aloud in a low-volume tone. “I haven’t had a chance to battle too many of these… I’m not entirely sure what she could have up her sleeve with this one.” He returned his hand to his side, staring at the large grass-type ominously. Good thing I have an ace in the hole when it comes to grass types. Particularly ones that can’t move around too quickly.[/i]

“Lockjaw! You know what to do!”[/b] Silver ordered in a booming voice. The Feraligatr did nothing in response, but it knew exactly what the trainer was talking about. It just wanted to wait for the Venusaur to make one wrong move before taking action. All it did for now was slowly close in on the Pokemon, but not close enough to get hit. One grass-type attack alone would be able to seriously cripple the alligator.

Silver heard the girl shout something that he couldn’t quite make out. However, he managed to hear two words, and those two words were enough to tell him that this was a dangerous situation: Solar Beam. “Watch out, Lockjaw! It’s trying to use Solar Beam!”[/b] he hollered. “Try to hit it before it can pull it off! And don’t stand directly in front of it!”[/b]

As soon as these words were spoken, Lockjaw lunged towards the Venusaur, before abruptly cutting away to the right. Wheeling around past it’s massive head, the Feraligatr found itself facing it’s left side. “Now! Ice Punch!”[/b] Silver commanded. A bluish-white glow formed over the alligator’s fist, radiating an intense chill. With a great roar, Lockjaw fired the punch towards the Venusaur’s side.

Leaf felt her legs shake and struggle to keep her upright as she watched the battle go on. So this was war, this was the ugly war that Blue had warned her about. She looked down at her blood-stained shirt. This was Whack’s blood. He’d been hurt before, but this was war and he could have died. Died…. Leaf shook her head and saw that the Feraligator was moving in for an Ice-punch. Type advantage. Smart.

“Briar! Jump! ” Leaf said. It wasn’t an attack but Leaf had taught her Pokemon other parts of battling besides their moves. Many of her Pokemon where very diverse in a battling and Leaf now considered training them to fight by themselves in-case something like the sandstorm happened. She watched as Briar jumped up with suprising speed and soaked up as much sunlight as he could and by the time he was upside down, and his opponent beneath him, a large beam of white light shot towards the alligator Pokemon from the humongous flower on his back.

Leaf watched and nodded. She didn’t use Briar all that often as he was much often a much more powerful enemy then her opponents could handle, being Leaf’s first Pokemon and all. They’d done much together. Briar didn’t come out as much as he used to because he was so intimidating as well. Leaf looked out at the sea and worried about if the Feraligator would use it to its advantage. Briar was pretty resistant to Water and also had a healing move in his known list of moves so any small amount of damage was pretty easy to heal. Feeling her legs shake again, Leaf struggled to stay up. What if Briar got hurt? She wouldn’t be able to stand it if she saw Briar get hurt. She just couldn’t stand. It.

This is war, Leaf.

Blue’s words rung in her head as his meaning behind the statement finally set in. So this was what he meant. She wouldn’t be able to protect her Pokemon. She might actually lose one of them. She might be losing one right now, Whack’s gash had been pretty bad. He’d either have a very big scar across his shoulder or he’d be gone forever. Leaf took a deep breath and watched the battle to distract herself.

She had to keep it together or it was all over.

Amidst all of the chaos and destruction, something caught his attention out of the corner of his eye… Some sort of movement. He reacted quickly, jumping back ever so slightly and turning his full attention towards it, thinking that it may be another enemy coming to gang up on him. But there was nobody else there. Just the girl he was battling against, standing all by her lonesome. Only… Something was wrong. Her legs were shaking.

The sight of it caused a scowl to creep onto Silver’s face. Hmph… So this is the opponent that’s managed to stall me all this time,[/color] he thought bitterly. A girl who can barely manage to keep herself balanced while in the middle of an important battle. And yet she’s still managed to keep me away from the lighthouse this long. I’m ashamed that I allowed myself to be held up this long by such a… The right words escaped him for a moment. …Weakling. But perhaps I can use this to my advantage.[/color]

Lockjaw growled dangerously as the Ice Punch failed to hit the target. It didn’t expect that giant thing to be able to jump as high and as fast as it did. But it was no matter. All it had to do was wait for the Venusaur to land again, then try to hit it again while it was staggered from the fall. Except something was wrong. The grass-type was upside down, directly above the Feraligatr… “Lockjaw! Get out of the way, now!” Silver thundered in a booming voice.

Lockjaw’s eyes widened in alarm. It had forgotten about the Solar Beam! As the bright-green ray was emitted from the Venusaur’s giant bulb, Lockjaw dived out of the way, landing flat on it’s face as a result of this evasive maneuver. It scrambled up to it’s feet as quickly as it could, it’s speed impaired by the soft sand. There went it’s opportunity to take advantage of Venusaur’s landing. By the time the alligator could reach it, it would probably already be more than prepared to evade again.

Silver gritted his teeth together as Lockjaw stood beneath the Venusaur. Things aren’t going as well as they should be, he noted disdainfully. Maybe I can try to distract her… Take advantage of her fear. How convenient that Silver managed to get a good amount of mind-game ammo just a few moments earlier. The red-haired trainer cleared his throat as his Pokemon realized what was going on, preparing to avoid it.

“Your legs are shaking,”[/b] Silver called out to the girl in a detached, yet powerful voice over the sounds of combat. “Are you afraid? Did you expect war to be an easy task? Perhaps it’s too late to tell you this now, but you are solely mistaken.”[/b] He lowered his eyes until they were completely shrouded by his hair. “It never occurred to you that you could lose your life, or any of your precious partners, at any second, did it? That’s the reality of it all. Falter for a split-second… And they’re dead. That’s the last you’ll ever see of them.”[/b]

Suddenly, Silver’s head snapped back up, his eyes flaring with intensity. “People like you are weak! You aren’t made for war! Count your blessings that I was the one you ran into, I know for a fact that there are many Nox members that aren’t nearly as merciful towards your kind as I am!”[/b] He turned his head towards Lockjaw, who had just managed to get a safe distance away from the Solar Beam. “Finish this,"[/b] he told the Feraligatr, his voice little more than a whisper.

Immediately upon hearing these words, Lockjaw rushed the now-grounded Venusaur once more, it’s hand already glowing blue in preparation for the Ice Punch. It weaved back and forth in front of the enemy Pokemon, hoping to be able to successfully avoid any attacks. As soon as it got near, it swung it’s fist as hard as it could towards the very center of the grass-type’s visage.

It was true pure stubbornness was keeping Leaf up on her feet. Yes, she would admit she wans’t meant for this war. She would admit it all, but as she heard the red haired boy’s words her fists clenched and she lowered so her eyes are shaded.

“You think you know war? You think you are merciless? Ha. Let me tell you something, kiddo… I’ve seen a lot. You may not see it, but calling me a weakling to my face? Well that was your first mistake. Briar… Stop playing. Go now.” Leaf said throwing out a hand to her right in a signal to go all out. It was now or never. They had to give all they got. Leaf was pissed, her clothes ruined, she even had blood in her hair… Now this little know it all thought he could call her weak. Only one person had the right to call her that, Blue. She’d never allowed anyone to call her that, she’d been battling for a long time and some one like him who couldn’t even show his Pokemon he cared? He had no right. Just some Johto punk.

Briar had landed with all his force which caused the ground to shake just a small amount. Now he watched as the Feraligator came at him with another Ice-punch. Bracing himself, Briar knew the impact had been too much on his legs and he’d have to take the hit. He closed his eyes and waited until he felt the ice cold, and painful, feel of ice across his face. He slid back as the contact met and shook off the pain in his head with a wince. That had definitely left a mark, but Briar knew he still a good portion of his strength left.

Lifting his head he listened to Leaf’s words and looked at her a few times before looking back to his opponent. So. This is what it had come to. Well, so be it then. Preparing himself, Briar shook the giant flower on its back and targeted the Blue Pokemon. He’d have to use Petal Dance. It was a dangerous move, but it was definitely a move that would have to be used to get what Leaf wanted. Soon a swirl of pink petals was thrown at the Feraligator at an extreme and dangerous speed to where they would deal damage. The attack was a continuous one and Briar would have to be careful, for he would gain a state of confusion once the amount of petals was released from his body.

Looks like he succeeded in getting her to lose her temper. Now it was only a matter of time before she slipped up and left herself totally vulnerable. When that happened, he would be ready to give the final command to Lockjaw. Knowing the precision with which the alligator functioned, things wouldn’t end up looking too good for the girl standing across the battlefield from him.

As the girl began to speak, Silver’s eyes narrowed. Did she really think she was in any sort of position to say a word to the red-haired trainer? “I can’t say I know war outside of this one occasion,”[/b] he admitted in a low voice. “But unlike you, I knew exactly what I was walking into. I understood the risk I was taking by stepping into the city. Not only do I understand it, I don’t fear it. As you can see, I’m doing a fine job keeping my knees still.”[/b] Silver paused as he cast his eyes downward, the tone of his voice taking a similar downward dip. “As for me being merciless… You don’t know the meaning of the word. But I’d be more than willing to give you a small taste.”[/b]

The sand began to shift slightly under Lockjaw’s feet as Briar struck the ground with great impact, nearly causing the Pokemon to lose it’s footing. The Feraligatr was lucky that this battle was taking place on such a soft surface, or that could’ve been a serious hazard. As Lockjaw struck the much-larger Pokemon square in the face with it’s chillingly blue fist, it let out a ferocious victory cry into the gradually-cooling dawn air. But something was wrong. As soon as it’s hand made contact with the Venusaur, it reached a dead stop, similar to a car hitting a massive, indestructible wall. The Feraligatr performed a double take. The enemy was still up and functioning impeccably.

A stunned look flashed over the faces of both trainer and Pokemon in unison. The plan didn’t work out at all like the red-haired trainer thought it would.“Lockjaw, fall back now, before it can retaliate!”[/b] Silver howled at the Feraligatr, clearly stupefied by this turn of events. The Water-type leapt back in an attempt to evade the sharp pedals flying towards it, but to no avail. It was caught head-on by the colorful swarm. It grunted in pain as the attack did a huge number on it’s energy.

Blood dripped down the length of Lockjaw’s body, leaking out of the many gashes now present on it’s tough, blue-scaled skin. It stood on shaky legs, hardly able to keep itself up. Silver growled through clenched teeth at the sight of this. There’s no way Lockjaw can keep this up,[/i] he realized. I need to get him out of there before he gets seriously injured.[/i] His frustration only multiplied as he heard a multitude of voices coming from the city.

“Damn!”[/b] Silver exclaimed aloud at the sound of the other voices. Lux must have started to get ahold of what was going on. There was a very good change the trainer would end up having to deal with reinforcements, on top of the opponent he was already facing. The rest of the Nox raiders were probably busy ransacking the city. He wouldn’t get aid anytime soon.

Cursing under his breath, Silver retrieved Lockjaw’s Pokeball from his pocket, which emitted a red beam at the Feraligatr. As the Pokemon disappeared into the beam, the trainer took a big step back, away from the battlefield, while reaching for another Pokeball. “I’ve spent too much time playing with you,”[/b] he uttered coldly at the girl as he tossed down the new Pokeball, a Gengar erupting from it with a resounding mischievous cackle. “I’m going to have to cut this battle short.”[/b] He lifted his hand, directing the limb in the other trainer’s direction.

“Maybe we’ll meet again someday and get a chance to finish our little skirmish,”[/b] Silver stated ominously. “But for now… Wraith, Shadow Ball.”[/b] Letting out another maniacal chuckle, the purple Ghost opened it’s mouth as wide as it could, firing a dark purple ball of phantasmal energy in the direction of the Lux trainer and her Pokemon. The move was meant to be more of a distraction than an actual attempt to strike the two. Hoping to take advantage of the timing of the attack, Silver swiftly dashed towards the lighthouse, with Wraith following in close pursuit. He hated the thought of abandoning the battle less than halfway through it, but his objective was to destroy the lighthouse. Leaf listened to his words with a straight back now and steady knees. She listened as he stated that at least he known what he was getting into when he entered a war. She wanted to demand to know if he’d chosen willingly or if he’d been forced into this war. Leaf would have preferred to go on with her life and exclude the war all together. But… as a important figure in the war and both her closest friends in the war, Leaf had known it was a near impossible dream. Even now she still wished for it.

“Say what you will, Nox. I didn’t join this stupid war willingly. Yes. I have fear, but that fear for my Pokemon- no for my family will only make me stronger!” Leaf said as she focused her eyes on Briar and watched knowing that the Feraligator wouldn’t last much longer. She’d trained Briar specially, he was the most powerful in her team as well as the most experienced. He really was a tough opponent, he meant the most to Leaf she would admit.

Leaf was satisfied when she saw the Petal Dance had hitten the Feraligator as was out for revenge she wouldn’t let them get away with hurting Whack. One might have said that Leaf was going abit far, seeing as the little Marowak would live through the battle, but Leaf knew he’d have trouble moving his arm well for several weeks and develop a scar on his shoulder now. That angered Leaf. All the Pokemon on her team were her babies. She loved every single one of them, if one of them got seriously injured Leaf would make sure that they were okay and that the person paid. Leaf watched as the water-type was recalled. She breathed a sigh of relief and shuddered. At last, she’d hidden her one weakness that she couldn’t let anyone find out. Her fear of water Pokemon was something that she knew would be her downfall. Leaf wasn’t at all ashamed at the smirk when the boy and his pokemon both wore shocked expressions. What? Did they think just because the type advantage was effective Briar would go down within one hit? They underestimated her, how sad.

Leaf watched as the red headed boy released a Gengar who he called Wraith. She watched as he ran off leaving them to deal with the Gengar. Leaf gritted her teeth, so he’d left them with a distraction to keep them busy? Leaf cursed and watched as the Gengar came in with a Shadow Ball attack. It wasn’t headed toward them to attack, more of a distraction…

“The Lighthouse!” Leaf shouted as she turned to watch the boy running towards the city now. “Briar! Lets move!” Leaf said withdrawing him within his Pokeball in a flash of bright light. At the same time she quickly pulled out Avery’s Pokeball and quickly got out of the way of the Shadow Ball as Avery was released. Unfortunately, Leaf’s arm had been hit and was now bleeding. Avery seeing this wound quickly scooped the girl on his back and flew back to where Lux doctors where. She needed help.

“After him. Avery… Don’t worry about me.” Leaf said as she winced in pain. The pain was enormous, she’d never been hit by a Pokemon’s attack before this. It wasn’t enough to make her pass out but it sure hurt like hell. Avery listened to his trainers words and shook his head. He’d never disobeyed orders before but this would be on time he would. He changed course to the Lux doctors as Leaf watched the boy get farther and farther away.

“But Avery… he’s getting away…” Leaf said before she simply closed her eyes and passed out from the exhaustion of the battle. The Sandstorm hadn’t been something she’d been prepared for and her arms and legs were cover with dirt and little cuts the glass in the sand had made whirling at such intense speeds. Avery truly wondered if everything would go smoothly from now on. The Lux camp was in sight…

For now, they’d made it.
