Sootopolis had once been a wonderful city, and he'd visited it often, as a Mossdeep resident. Now, it had been reduced to just another cesspit of Lux scum. Cecil had been on a mission and missed the battle, but he'd heard the news and knew it had to be temporary. There was no way that Lux could have obtained a permanent hold on the city. If they went after Mossdeep next, he would successfully defend it or die in the attempt. For now, it was time to let Lux know that Nox wouldn't just sit back and accept the defeat. Cecil was here to lead a rally. If he kept on doing this sort of thing, he'd start to get a reputation, and that'd take undercover work out of the equation. Not that he'd miss it much. Pretending for even the shortest of periods to be a Lux member sickened him. He admired the spies for their bravery in doing so. He'd flown into the city on the back of his Volcarona, pretending to be an innocent civilian tourist. A disguise that had only needed to last a matter of minutes. There were a few lower-level Nox soldiers or civilians (not that Nox really had official ranks) with him, also pretending to be just ordinary Lux-loving citizens. It might have been suspicious, the group walking through the middle of the city, but there weren't too many. They were relying on the remaining Nox sympathizers in the city to join in. Maybe people would recognize him, Cecil began to worry. He was hardly as famous as, say, the regional leaders, but he'd done enough work that the chance was there, at least in the areas where he'd done many past missions. In a bit of halfhearted effort, he wrapped his scarf around the bottom in his face, in what hopefully looked like a reaction to the cold. Along with the others, he climbed the stairs to higher and higher sections of the city. At last, they reached the perfect location. High up enough that they would clearly be noticed, but not enough to be isolated from the people, and with plenty of rocks to duck behind if Lux thought they'd put an end to this. Cecil grinned behind his scarf. Time to upset this eerie peace. "Let's do this, shall we?" |
Cecil pulled out the megaphone he'd kept in his backpack. He could hardly wait to see the way the citizens reacted. "People of Sootopolis," he more or less screamed, voice somewhat muffled by the scarf. "Quit the acting! You're just as placid as you were when you were a Nox city, like you're pretending the battle never happened in the first place. Well, we have a message for you, apathetic civilians: stop the fucking fence-sitting and start caring. We are Nox, and we do not give in when Lux comes knocking. Bring your pickets, bring your torches and your pitchforks, and do not surrender to those swine. Freedom over order! Rebellion over oppression!"
Cecil paused to catch his breath, ready to send out a pokemon if he needed to do so. He'd try to stay away from his concealed pistol, or Arceus forbid the backup knife. If Lux gave him no other option, however, he would not hesitate.[/style][style=background-color: #e9e9e9; padding: 2px; font-family: tahoma; font-size: 9px; color: #828282; text-align: center] (words) 598 (tags) akito, hector, tika (notes) n/a[/style][/style]

made by zetta
