The preparations had been made. A battle was in due for all of them. He could practically breathe the tension and eagerness of the fighters of Sinnoh to be heroes of their land and drive their oppressors away. Wallace had no doubt this was the new air in Sinnoh, the war upon the air they inhaled but there were expectations floating critically. They expected this to be a fight different from the ones they did before. This was to be a fight where they would be the victors. With so much effort on a strategy and a financial banker backing their equipment and medical needs, something had to come out of this. It wasn't to be just the meager, bitter victories the weary guerrillas had tasted with the blood of their own comrades pooling at their feet. It had to be a clear cut victory, an overwhelming achievement. He still proudly carried the title as Hoenn Champion even in Sinnoh's lands but he didn't try using it as means to gain trust. Wallace knew how fame worked. He knew how the hearts of the people could only be won, not bought, just as he had captivated his audience back in the old, peaceful times. He didn't want to compare the past with the present but the exhaustion of his nervously, beating heart was almost the same as the first couple of times he performed. None of his usual behavior betrayed the anxiety welling inside him. He had to be a heroic figure, one who knew no fear, only glory for his followers to feel safe and powerful. The morale was something he had to lead. The banner of Nox, Sinnoh, and Nemesis, the group he had named themselves, was with him. He briefly thought of Alyssa, hoping some of his wispy thoughts of her would help him avoid the same errors she must have had made. After all, as kind and good as Alyssa was, even she made mistakes. He always defended her about her reputation but even he had to admit she had a most unfortunate beginning in her leadership. No good person would want to follow a person named to be a destroyer. What would he be after this? What kind of fear would his name strike Sinnoh? In Hoenn, his name inspired beauty and grace. Was it possible for it to happen in Sinnoh again? Or would his first, major operation be the last for him? He looked up and addressed everyone in their secret encampment. "Defenses aren't that strong. It's my understanding Cynthia has been lenient in military efforts in the region. By no means do I intend to exploit her kindness, but neither am I going to sit by while Lux leech the life out of our soil. We will drive the soldiers away but remember who we are. We kill without mercy and hatred. There is no room for mercy when lives are on the lines and no space for hatred when we fight righteously." He briefly paused to let them digest his words. They were in no rush. This wasn't the first time he'd gone through a speech to remind them of who they were and why they fight. Wallace didn't want any of them to be lost in this war, not to a fate worse than dying. "We're not soldiers either," he said. "We are comrades-in-arms and it is my order that you prioritize the safety of yourself and others than the mission. Do not proceed if seriously wounded - return here immediately for healing. For any signals or call for reinforcement, use the Hoothoot we've spread around the forests. Don't make any sounds or flares - they attract too much attention." Despite the situation, Wallace slowly put on a smile. It wouldn't do if they lose focus but over-concentration was just as bad. "We have a lot of precautionary measures but you can cast away your fears." His cape unfolded like wings as he cast his arm to the side. "We WILL reclaim Lake Verity!" Cheers rang out in response. They weren't too careful about making noises. While the secret camp was far from the patrols and scouts were keeping an eye out for enemies, it was possible that someone had slipped under their radar and saw the suspicious activity. Worrying about it wasn't going to be of help now. Wallace had to risk it to raise the spirits of the guerrillas. Suffocating in the silence was too stressful. The tension inside him had been relieved too. He couldn't afford to shy away. The path for them was only forward. "Nemesis, let us go!" The teams spread out in all directions, armed with machine guns, explosions, and Pokemon. Wallace led his own team toward the lake where Wallace would be unstoppable. If he could reach that, he had no doubt Lake Verity would be theirs without spilling too much blood. Not just for Nemesis, but for everyone. The sooner he could end this, the less horror all of them had to face.[/style][/style] | [atrb=width,100][atrb=vAlign,top][atrb=style,background-color: #f3f3f3;][style=opacity: 0.8; font-family: georgia; color: c5b161; text-align: center;][style=border-bottom: 10px #c5b161 solid; margin-bottom: 10px;][style=font-size: 30px; letter-spacing: -5px; word-spacing: 5.5px; text-transform: lowercase; padding-right: 10px;]words[/style][/style][style=font-size: 15px; padding: 5px; margin-top: -20px;]846[/style] [style=border-bottom: 10px #c5b161 solid; margin-bottom: 10px;][style=margin-top: -20px; font-size: 30px; letter-spacing: -5px; word-spacing: 5.5px; text-transform: lowercase; padding-right: 10px;]tags[/style][/style][style=font-size: 15px; padding: 5px; margin-top: -20px;]Sirius (camp), Elimine (camp), Thanatos (with Wallace's team), Pearl (w/e bread), Diamond, Platinum, Sky, Lydia, Hayato.
