[atrb=width,500][cs=2] THE PREREQUISITE OVERCAST / HEADLINES / GOLDENROD CITY JOHTO'S PRIDE AND JOY, REMEMBERED Goldenrod City. The once-beautiful, sprawling metropolis of Western Johto has been reduced to a nearly uninhabitable land of ruin. What started out as riots spurred onward by the few, rebellious Nox members that were trying to make a stand in Johto against Lux’s glorious rule were pushed back. However, they didn’t give up. The riots escalated quickly into a full-scale battle for territory; Lux on the defensive to protect the civilians that live there with the despicable Nox terrorists on the offensive. The citizens that have lost more than loved ones and their homes in this battle cry needless destruction at what is left of Goldenrod. Far more than just what we can see with our own two eyes has been lost – the hope of the people that once lived peacefully has been reduced to almost nothing by the terrorists, however, worse than this is the deep impact the loss of Goldenrod has on Johto’s economy and telecommunications. The death toll piles high, but the destruction toll piles just as high – if not higher. The entirety of Northern Goldenrod was destroyed with nothing left to show for buildings clinging to existence. The Radio Tower and Game Corners have been demolished beyond recognition, and the World Trade Center that stood tall over the water was crumbled to pieces. Those innocent victims that tried to evacuate the building were crushed when the building collapsed upon itself, sending debris and rubble everywhere on top of them. The Magnet Train station appears to have fallen victim to a small-scale explosion of sorts. Though the damage is significant, it is not irreparable. Immediate transport to Kanto for evacuees will be up and running soon enough. One of the civilians that volunteered to direct their evacuated neighbors said, ”It is a terrible sight that we have witnessed here. Though it’s a city and not a tiny town, people are born, raised, and die here. But…never before have they died like this. It had always been natural…not by the act of some terrorist.” The center of Goldenrod City has been opened into a massive fissure, caving the street people once walked upon into the underground just beneath it. All of the shops beneath the City are likely destroyed, though this has not yet been confirmed. We are still unsure if there is anybody trapped beneath it. The entirety of Eastern Goldenrod is gone as well. It appears to have been destroyed by a plethora of elemental pokemon attacks. Some survivors that fled the city report a Volcarona stirred up a Hurricane, which managed to pull water from the western shore through and sweep across the roads. Further, there were burned houses and frozen patches of the city. The Northward collapse of the Department store is responsible for much destruction as well. Architects that have done a primary sweep of the city report that the foundation was ruined, and the Northern wall on the first floor was knocked out entirely, as well as the Northwestern and Northeastern corners, causing the building to collapse upon itself because it could no longer sustain its own weight. The Gym has also been destroyed – there is no word yet from Whitney, and she has not been seen since before the battle. Champion Thalia de Luca III had a few words on the event, ”The people that have destroyed this city will pay. I will personally see to it. For now, the most Johto can do is work to re-build all that we have lost. Though it seems far from being accomplished, it will be in due time.” Crowds of people lay in the streets where they fell trying to escape, while the survivors currently walk among the volunteers helping to clean up the city and attempt to save anybody else that has survived the demolition of Goldenrod. The members of the city have banded together to start cleaning up what Nox destroyed. Though much has been taken from Johto, the region still stands proudly. The Indigo League will not tolerate it if less than one-hundred-percent effort is given in re-building what has been lost in the region. Also, the League has an official report for those that are able-bodied enough to take part in a manhunt… ATTN: WHOM IT MAY CONCERN… REPORTS FROM EYEWITNESSES SAY THAT THERE WERE AT LEAST TWO PEOPLE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE GIST OF THE DESTRUCTION OF GOLDENROD. ONE DRESSED IN ENTIRELY BLACK AND ESTIMATED TO BE BETWEEN 6’0” AND 6’5”. NO FURTHER DETAILS AVAILABLE AS A MASK AND HOODED CLOAK WERE WORN. THE SECOND INDIVIDUAL IS REPORTED TO BE SIGNIFICANTLY SMALLER THAN THE FIRST, NO MORE THAN 5’4” IN HEIGHT. MALE. MAIN DISTINGUISHING CHARACTARISTIC IS WHITE HAIR. THE PAIR WERE SEEN FLEEING THE CITY ATOP A FLYING POKEMON, HEADED TO THE NORTH. A MANHUNT FOR THE PAIR IS TOLERATED. ORDERS TO CAPTURE FOR QUESTIONING ARE IN PLACE.
