The Pokemon Trainers' Association[/justify][/blockquote]The Pokemon Trainers' Association, more known as Trainers' Association or TA, is Lux's Pokemon Trainer department that went through several changes since its transition from the Pokemon League era. It handled regional tournaments and championships until the league system was taken down. The most noteworthy change in TA is its more militaristic approach to Pokemon training and its new programs focusing in war effort.
History
TA had always been ran by veteran Trainers in an effort to keep Pokemon training and battling alive. It became the foundation for competitive Pokemon fights and had produced famous Trainers. It devised programs to teach the youth about the sport and a special financial aid agency, as well as a special PWD (persons with disability) help course. It was known for different philanthropy efforts, running tournaments for charity and providing orphaned children a future as Pokemon Trainers.
Dissent within TA
Two years ago, TA Trainers banded together to join the Pokemon League's effort to subdue cities and take hold of Gyms. TA's officials attempted to solve things peacefully with the Pokemon League but failed. Since the revolt of its own Trainers, TA became separated by two factions, those who support the Pokemon League and those against it. When many of the young, well-known Trainers showed support to the Pokemon League, most of the members of TA were swayed.
An outrage broke out when Pokemon League, now Lux, shut down the Pokemon League and approached Pokemon and Trainers as tools of war. More than half of the employees and members resigned from TA in protest, which only gave Lux an easier time to put in their own members within TA and took over.
Changes in its programs
Since Lux took charge, officers were sent to control TA and had changed its programs to something more war-oriented. TA's sponsorship is no longer by talent test but a free, x-year program, providing Trainers free training, settlement, Pokemon, and items that they must pay back by joining Lux's military. Members of TA are all expected to contribute to the war and must oblige to Lux's orders despite civilian status.
TA members are expected to train Pokemon and teach soldiers to handle Pokemon. Bigger incentives are offered to those who are willing to fight themselves, giving them honorary TA member status regardless of age. Other Trainers actively fighting in the war are given extra privileges by TA.
TA still provides workshops and several philanthropic efforts although they are often used as masks for propaganda.
The Neo-Trainer’s Association
There has been a lot of reorganization since the death of former president Xander. Stefan has tried to run the Association in a way that most resembles how it was under the old regimes, with a few notable exceptions.
TA is now highly bureaucratic with an efficient point system that helps illustrate goals and obligations. While the obligations of members were somewhat subjective in the past, each regular member now receives a card for their weekly activities. A sense of duty is what should define Lux loyalty. Every month, the officers situated in every city are to check that every member who is on a regular schedule has 10 signatures for training new members, 10 signatures for training by battling another member, 10 signatures for individual training, and one training trip to a non-city locale (unless it is a pre-approved site such as Lavender Tower). Every signature stands for an hour unit and must be from a TA officer in the area.
Of course, these obligations are subject to change in the event of army conscription, illness, or other special cases. In order to promote competition and persistence in effort, Champion Stefan has mandated that the three members who go above and beyond in their efforts will be offered the chance at special promotions, occasionally as a spot by the champion’s side (killing two birds with one stone - he would like to monitor the best trainers in the region).
(these obligations do not have to be threaded out IC, just implied)
Those who are on active duty in military endeavors are released from such obligations for the time being, but they do not have the same opportunities granted by the champion. There are other rewards, however, such as actual pay in Pokedollars and medals of honor.
After the recent casualties at Iron Island, Jubilife, and Goldenrod, the champion has recognised that Kanto and the TA could be essential to the welfare of other regions’ Lux. Thus, all members who are over eighteen years of age are automatically drawn up on a roster for other regional champions to deploy as they see fit. The Kanto champion’s decisions are final, and he will seldom refuse requests unless there is adequate, economical reasons.
The TA’s HQ is situated in Viridian City, but its operational bases are situated in most Kanto Lux territories. Stefan is currently working out the red tape so that TA can be implemented in other regions.
