[/justify][/blockquote][/blockquote]Cherrygrove is one of the last beautiful places left, and Merope intends on keeping it that way. The flowers in the city are well-kept by the many gardeners that keep the city in check. Sunkern and Oddish are common sights here, and even evolved forms of them can be seen, though only rarely. Most of the laws in the city exist for the sake of preservation, as Merope has seen the effects of war on other places, and she would like her city to stay pristine as possible.
For the most part, Cherrygrove remains as one of the best places to raise a family, even in these war-time days. The taxes are slightly higher here, though, as the gardeners must be paid and the city maintenance is not cheap. Merope herself dumps a portion of her profits into the city funds, keeping it afloat even as the war rages on. Most of the people in Cherrygrove are middle class, though there are several wealthy families in town.
Most business is run out of the old Town Hall, which is not far from the Pokemon Center. It's a moderately-sized building with a comfortable foyer and a council room in the back. The upper floor is home to the offices where many of the city employees work, and there are a few rooms there for passing Lux officials to stay.
Merope herself lives nearby in a modest, two-story house with a large back porch. Occasionally, Nox agents are uncovered and brought here. They are rarely seen again. Merope claims that she sends them off to Thalia for further questioning. Citizens are occasionally let inside Merope's home for dinner parties, and Lux officials frequently visit.
Rumor has it that there are criminals in this town. Merope would like to assure you that this is a lie spread by Nox to breed dissent in the peaceful Cherrygrove City. Cherrygrove is the safest place in all of Johto. There are soldiers stationed here to protect the streets, and the Indigo Plateau is only a few hours' flight, perhaps even less, so if anything were to go wrong, Merope and the soldiers here would only have to wait but a few hours before Sentinels or Champions arrived.
Cherrygrove City is safe. There is no need to worry about the war within its walls.
