FULL NAME His real name is Tane Laverne. Any work done with Nox is marked with the alias Cobalt. BACKGROUND Tane was born in Lavaridge Town on an August 21st roughly 20 years ago now. He claims not to remember much growing up, home schooled strictly under his father's guidance after his mother's disappearance. Even after the tense call for peace Tane continued sifting for favors to be owed and alliances to be won in places his father wouldn't look. OCCUPATION Medium works, what with seeing dead people on occasion. Many might consider him a rich boy, however. And then there's the part where he wouldn't hesitate to sell information for something he'd consider worth his time. ALLEGIANCE Nox holds more people his father wouldn't likely have control of. Though he's cautious, Tane does look out for those who he considers the more innocent TRAITS |
POSITIVE TRAITS: ▪ Skilled at "putting on a good face," and arguably silver-tongued ▪ Strives to be everything his father is not; this includes kindness. Often enough, the effort is put in and Cobalt will come off as soft spoken or gentle ▪ Perceptive, usually has an idea of which buttons to push or avoid ▪ Driven. Whatever he starts, he will see through ▪ Intuitive, a skill gleaned from a survivalist nature. | NEGATIVE TRAITS: ▪ Extremely sensitive about control and other issues in relationships of any kind. Can easily become manipulative, and can surprise even himself with how fluent he can be with such behavior ▪ Paranoid, hyper vigilant, and more when it comes to any type of relationship that usually involves trust ▪ A bit callous when it comes to discussions of death, and can easily be interpreted as cold in related areas of topic ▪ Extremely slow to trust; earning it would be like pulling teeth ▪ Often considered easily distracted or, at the very least, rather odd |
LIKES: ▪ Days where he can sit back and not have to prove anything to anyone ▪ Studying others for the fun of it rather than for survival ▪ Sour or citrusy foods, especially lemons. ▪ The idea of a relationship, or even just having someone he can actually trust ▪ Quiet. Not silence; he'd assure that there's no such thing. Still, though. ▪ Warmth ▪ The underdog ▪ A good, fun mess. You can always clean up later. Usually. | DISLIKES: ▪ Dragon types. Fears them, actually. ▪ Disappointing those around him. It actually used to be closer to a phobia, but through the years he's worked on it and it's become a more manageable beast. If prompted, he'd likely say that it's a thing of no basis, an irrational fear that could have been developed by any child. ▪ Commitment, because it scares him. Look at what happened when his parents committed. "Together forever" has a completely different meaning to Tane. ▪ Being talked over ▪ The vast majority of father's friends. |
SECRETS: ▪ He really enjoys the company of Normal-types, and finds them interesting. More so than ghosts/the "supernatural." Once in a while, a dose of normalcy can be good for you. Or so he hears. ▪ His ability to see the dead ▪ Although he's been declared legally blind, he has 20/20 vision ▪ He's actually had nightmares involving his father's pokemon, notably his Hydreigon and Klingklang ▪ A part of him enjoys the manipulative games that come about in his relationships from time to time. On one hand, this horrifies him. On the other, the games are all about surviving, so he's not about to stop |
