To the average person, breaking into a prison in order to break someone else out seemed like a pretty crazy idea. Breaking into the most secure prison in the entire region to break out a bunch of other people was even more foolish. Crazier still was breaking into the most secure prison in the entire region to break out a bunch of other people, with the nearest friendly settlement hundreds of miles to the south, and having to stop to rest at one of the most populated cities held by your enemy in this region. Then again, much of the work that Lux Sentinels normally participated in would be considered crazy by the average person.
Hunter Shigure had just completed a successful jailbreak yesterday at the Shoal Cave prison where he had managed to set free many Lux loyalists who had been imprisoned by the brutal Nox regime which dominated the Hoenn region. Of course, the sentinel had no way of getting them back to friendly territory, but that aspect wasn't included in the mission description. As far as he was concerned, he had done his job, and done it well. Of course, just because the mission didn't mean that the work was over. Shoal Cave had been located deep in Nox territory, and the nearest Lux settlement was the Battle Frontier, which was located hundreds of miles away. This essentially meant that Hunter needed to cross swathes upon swathes of Nox territory (almost all of which consisted of empty ocean), without getting caught. Easier said than done.
Having a Pokemon to help fly him out of harms way had made Hunter's task considerably easier, though it was still quite hazardous. Even a strong Dragon-type like Salamence wasn't able to make it all the way from Shoal Cave to the Battle Frontier nonstop, and Hunter had been forced to make a stop in Sootopolis City of all places, to given Salamence a few hours rest.
As Salamence flew down through the vent of the dormant volcano in which Sootoloplis, Hunter could begin to make out the lights of the city which were piercing the pitch black night background that would otherwise have been present at this hour were it not for this city's existence. Hunter had planned to fly into the city under the cover of darkness to keep from being sighted. A Salamence descending into the volcano during the day would almost certainly catch the eye of the city residents, which was obviously the last thing that Hunter wanted.
The Dragon Pokemon was panting hard and nearing exhaustion as it slowly landed on the top of a small cliff overlooking the lake which filled the crater of the volcano. It was a good distance away from the city. Close enough to walk to, but far enough away that the residents wouldn't have been awoken by the sound of Salamence's landing. Hunter jumped down, off of the Dragon-types back and said to it, "I can't thank you enough for lasting this long. Time for you to take a rest." Upon saying these words, Hunter took a Pokeball out of his pocket, held it up, and Salamence was whisked back inside in a flash of red light. The Sentinel then walked over to the cliff and sat along the edge. He would wait there until the sun came up and the city shops began to open. He'd go into town to purchase food and other essential supplies. He would make for the Battle Frontier the following night exiting in the same manner which he had entered, under cover of darkness.
