THE air was alive with electricity. Though no Nox members had yet been spotted, tension was thick in the air. Wally stood at his position at the base of the lighthouse Lux had sworn to protect, Angel at his side. Others had been spread throughout the city, and more still were at Wally's back, protecting the opposite side of the fixture. He himself faced north, out to the sea. His face was dark, unusually so for the normally cheerful young man. Above him, the sky was clear, just barely twilight as the sun finished dipping below the horizon. Perfect time for an attack, when visibility was low. Wally winced, and then broke into a series of coughs, before straightening with a look of grim resignation.
He did not want to be here.
People were going to die. Pokemon were going to die. This is where the war, which was so easily forgotten in the light of day, became reality. Where they were all reminded just how real of a threat Nox was. Angle raised a hand a brushed his arm, her eyes tight with concern. She didn't want to be here any more then he did, though for completely different reasons.
A sudden shout broke through the night. From his right, near the town, came flashes of electricity and a blaze of fire. A chill raced down Wally's back - here they came. Wally released two more of his Pokemon, Charge and Cirrus. They floated at his shoulder, ready for battle. A wind rustled through the tall grasses that surrounded the lighthouse. The lighthouse beacon turned, gleaming out over an ocean that seemed much too calm considering the crimes it was about to witness.
"...I know you're out there," Wally called with a soft smile, "Please, come on out. We may as well begin."
