However, our very own reporter, Harry Pitt, was finally able to sit down with the man himself Tuesday, May 30th, and this is what he had to say: Harry Pitt: How are you settling in to the new job, Mr. Cromwell? Alexander Cromwell: I believe it’s coming along nicely, if I can be so bold. There’s been acts that I’ve wanted LUX to take for a while now, and I was just glad I could help move those along. Honestly, there hasn’t been any turmoil in the office…yet, ahaha. Pitt: That’s good, but speaking of acts and legislation; what can we, as the public, expect from the new president? What direction are you going to be taking us? Cromwell: I’m glad you asked that, Harry, because it is one of the topics I wanted to discuss personally. I don’t plan on changing a lot of things. LUX has been working diligently for the past two years, and why fix something that isn’t broken? However, I can say that we will be focusing efforts to retain peace and prosperity within our Kanto borders, and restoring those ideals in the Johto region. Champion De Luca is a wonderful woman, who is challenged with unrest from unruly terrorists. Funds from the Unova push will be redirected into rebuilding both Olivine and Cianwood City along with providing more common rights to the people of Johto. Pitt: So you’re going to focus LUX on retaining peace; how do you plan to do that? Cromwell: There’s a lot of new programs I will be implementing into the daily lives of our citizens. The Trainer’s Association is going to be transformed into a more accommodating facility within Viridian. Orphans and the elderly; those that cannot take care of themselves, will be protected there. The sentinels will be given more defensive orders – stationing them in cities to protect them, helping city administrators and gym leaders with affairs of state. And the war effort in both Hoenn and Sinnoh will be won as quickly as possible. Although our focus is on the defense of our people, NOX vigilantes threaten the peace of the common people in those regions daily. They can’t be left to their own devices; that’s where we come in. Pitt: That’s enough about defense, lets move to something else. Perhaps, Miss Guinevere Hunt? What is she to you? My readers are dying to know. Cromwell: Miss Hunt is a dear friend, Harry, much like you are. We grew up together in Castelia City, where we went to school together. She’s my best friend, well. More like a sister, really. Pitt: She was rumored to be joining the council, what happened to that? Cromwell: Well, we moved to the Hoenn region with my last promotion as Champion. The reason she was thinking of joining the council was to be helpful for the cause. She feels like she sits and does nothing, but I assured her that she helps by being a figurehead. Young girls and ladies alike look up to her and her never-fading smile. Especially now that we are in such a big spotlight. Pitt: Speaking of the council, do you plan on implementing new members, keeping the ones you have, what? Cromwell: With the ill-timed passing of our late President, I have to go straight into an investigation. They, minus his sentinels, were the closest people to him, and I can’t have unrest at the council table. When the investigation is more underway, I’ll be happy to tell you more. Pitt: What do you plan to do if one of them is found guilty of conspiring against the late President? Cromwell: [pause] I will exile them, probably, or put them in jail. They will most definitely lose their job and social standing; though his or her family will not be harmed for their crimes. Pitt: Thank you for coming in, Mr. President, but that’s all the time we have. Cromwell: It was my pleasure, Harry. [/style][/style] |
