One that wasn't being forced under the pressure and terror of a war zone. It made a change, a rather pleasant one. His team was trained for these battles, the war was something he'd forced upon them due to the change in circumstance. Going back to the good old days was something he was looking forward to. His gray gaze shifted to the battle field, and he couldn't contain the smile upon seeing who his competitor would be.

It was finally time to show that woman he was more than capable of battling. He'd put her in her place, and then promptly climb the tiers before coming out on top. Losing in the first round to his colleague was not an option.

" Dahlia, I wish you the best of luck. Now how about we give this crowd a show worth seeing? Don't want to let the frontier down ," Thorton called out, before his gaze moved to the psychic Pokemon standing just in front of him. The Mr.Mime was on the field, eagerly waving to the crowd. He was a team player, and far too happy about being able to show off to the masses. It was hardly surprising he'd try and work the crowd a little bit. " Carbuncle, Light Screen to start this off ," The Factory Head called out, knowing there was a type disadvantage, but his Mr.Mime was built to work against offensive attacks. It was why he started off with him. It raised both of it's hands, qucikly motioning in the space in front of it, and a light sheen appeared as the light screen was set up.

She leapt on the spot, ripping out the lawn beneath her without a single care; only disappointed at the fact she now had to wipe the damp dirt off her heels. She tossed her Pokeball up into the air to reveal the Rotom that only just yesterday engulfed her fan…not that she minded the excuse to wear a skimpy bikini and denim shorts in all this heat (and all the male specimens that emerged with it). Whispering to Sparky, Dahlia gave the orders to hover behind her and begin fanning to be like super dramatic awesome! Dahlia’s hair whipped into the air around her form, as if she were posing for a model shoot not a battle! An aimed finger pointed at Thorton…whose words had been completely lost on the Arcade Star; in one ear out the other. Thorton baby! If we’re goin to be so serious then we should at least be a little fun right!? How about a bet!? She pensively turned to her Rotom for a moment as she discussed what wager she wanted from her opponent. After a conversation that was worryingly long to have with a Pokemon she pirouetted on one foot to continue her unnerving pointing. KAY THORTON BABY? If I win I get to give you a makeover and we have to go on a date! Dahlia giggled to herself before bending to switch on the music. At full volume she shimmied her hips and breasts to the beat; glitter falling off her body to the sound of the trance. Still shimmying she yelled over the music. WE STILL HAVE TO HAVE FUN THOUGH! CAN YOUR POKEMON FIGHT TO THE BEAT!? It was impossible to escape the blaring that now surrounded the stadium; the Rotom quickly hovered to the beat, dancing through the air, raving its head. The light screen almost worked at a disco ball as Dahlia snapped her fingers to dim the lights, luminosity refracting all around them. SPARKY USE CONFUSE RAY! Thorton only watched her as she came striding onto the field in her overly revealing clothing as per usual, and essentially screeched to the crowd. He knew that this was the sort of field that she would prefer, the sort that would put her right into her stride, whilst he was stuck dealing with a crow that he never received.

His battles weren’t in public, no. His battles normally occurred within the confines of his factory, where he was in control and other people just had to deal with it. And now, instead of his usual regard, he was being forced into the public eye against someone like Dahlia. It wasn’t to say he didn’t recognize that she was a threat. No, she managed to become part of the battle frontier. Instead it was the ease with which she could work a crowd into frenzy.

Why hadn’t she gone for the contest? She was so much better suited for the show off world of theirs than battling in something like this. His grey eyes turned annoyed as she released her Rotom onto the field and proceeded to show no care for the fact this was a battle, not some display, even more so when she started harping on about a bet. Fine, if that was the way she wanted to play this, he’d sink to her level. Even if it was just to get her to stop yelling about god knows what and who knows where.

” Fine. If I win, you’re banned from entering the Battle Factory without permission for the year. Break it, and you’ll be disrespecting this entire audience,” Thorton called out in reply. Dahlia was a people person, she’d care what the idiots that fell into the group known as her fans thought of her going back on her word. Thorton doubted he himself had any fans, but that was beside the point. He was a man of his word, and if she did come out of this on top he would go on a date with her, and allow her a make over. The bet just made it that he would be treating this seriously than just a friendly competition. Then, of course, she had to put him under even more infuriating a situation by breaking out the loud ass stereo. Carbuncle, on the other hand, just grinned as the music began to pour across the area. This was absolutely perfect in his eyes.

The confuse ray aimed toward the mime struck home, eyes blurring slightly and the psychic type wobbled momentarily. In his eyes, the field now had two Rotom’s upon the opposing side. Now wasn’t that just dandy. Raising a hand, the Pokemon cocked its head to the side before trying to figure out how there were two of his hands as well. Piercing the confusion was a quick command from his trainer. ”Carbuncle, Reflect now ,” Thorton called, ignoring the confusion. The mime wouldn’t need to be on the field for much longer. He was bolstering his defences before something else could go wrong.

Raising a gloved hand, the psychic began to wiggle it back and forth, figuring out how to make the wall of energy appear. How did he do it? Confusion was evident upon his features as he closed his eyes and tried to force out the attack with his normal skill. The air in front of him, already dancing with colours because of the light screen, seemed to brighten intensely as the Reflect joined it’s special based partner. Thorton was playing it defensive for this first round. The woman opposite him could rush in as much as she wanted, pretty soon she would be feeling the hurt.
