[/justify][/blockquote][/blockquote]Violet City has never been the site of a battle, and Lessa intends to keep fighting outside the perimeters. The city is patrolled by a small group of hand-selected sentinels, as well as a larger force of police, many of whom have combat training. Lessa herself routinely leads one patrol a week, taking on the single shift so she doesn’t forget what it’s like to be personally responsible for ensuring the safety of citizens.
Unlike many of her fellow city administrators, Lessa does not hold events. You’ll never see her giving a long speech or hosting a charity ball or opening a festival, it’s simply not her style. There are plenty of charity events and festivals, of course, but they’re opened by delegates. Lessa has won the faith of her city by being blunt and honest. Her occasional speeches are short and to the point- she lays out her plans for the city without preamble or fancy terms. Despite her lack of poise and tact, she’s done an excellent job of reviving a flagging economy, which has won her the favor of many of the citizens.
The Pokemon school in Violet City has expanded despite the war, and now also offers classes to train police personnel in various war time techniques. Alongside the school is a small downtown, including a movie theater. The lower portion has been built up and now contains several small businesses, as well as a lone factory. Sprout Tower has also been renovated, and has been cleaned up, and now hosts a larger gathering of monks, along with tourists.
As all routes lead to other Lux areas, security is not as tight as it could be at the borders of the city. A small group of guards watch each of the three entrances to Cherrygrove, but there are no gates to close the area off.
Newcomers to the city may be surprised at the number of Bellsprout-related statues and decorations. Lessa has chosen Bellsprout as her emblem. Unlike other, perhaps stronger-looking Pokemon, Bellsprout are capable of withstanding even the worst disasters. They simply bend under the force of hurricane force winds or the shifting and shaking of an earthquake, then spring back up when the danger has passed. Flexibility and improvisation are the key to Lessa’s tactics when it comes to managing Violet city. A sturdy but brittle oak tree will snap in the face of a gale, a flexible reed will simply bend and then bend back.
