The sun hung above Ecruteak, basking the city with it’s radiant light. Here and there, clouds dotted the sky and a slight breeze swept through those outside. And Morty, not wanting to waste such a beautiful day, decided to leave his bleak and dreary Gym to venture into the bright streets of his home. He smiled as he walked past citizens and soldier alike, greeting them as was appropriate of a Gym Leader. But of course, he met more stern-faced, battle-worn warriors then the happier faces he normally saw. After all, his city was sacrificed for the Lux regime and turned into a military base – making many of its citizens decide it was time to leave. He didn’t really miss them per se, they were hardly nice to Morty, but he missed seeing people that didn’t look so grim all the time. Honestly, these men and women could use something to cheer them up.
As he mindlessly walked through the streets of his city, the young man began to ponder in what glorious ways could he boost the soldier’s morale. He knew his signature pranks were out of the question because the last one almost made them chase him out of the city with pitchforks. Then a sudden chill began to creep on his surroundings. He recognized this feeling; it was his Gengar, Kane. And sure enough his shadow pulled itself off of the ground and materialized into the ghost-type. Unlike most trainers, Morty prefers that his pokemon be allowed to wander and explore the streets of his city. This was as much their home as it is his so why should he confine them to pokeballs. Besides, should danger arise, they could hold their own. And Morty, well, he was no pushover himself.
“Yes, Kane?” asked the Gym Leader, reaching over to pet his beloved pokemon. But Kane just grabbed his master’s arm and began pointing towards a far off direction. Morty blinked, was there something strange happening there? The man then gently pulled his arm away from his pokemon and closed his eyes, allowing the psychic energy within him to surge through his body. Even with his eyes closed he could see but beyond normal human vision His ‘eyes’ traveled through Ecruteak, searching for whatever or whoever Kane was pointing too. He saw Yoma rummaging through trash, Suzu stalking a soldier, and then he saw Hanya interacting with a girl he has never met before. Well, that was certainly odd. Among his group of rowdy ghost pokemon Hanya was the shyest. All this time the pokemon lived in Ecruteak she either remained in the Gym or hid in the allies. Never did walk…float…towards a single soul unless in a battle.
When Morty released his psychic abilities he asked Kane to fetch him Fujin. He wanted to do some investigating.oOo
Hanya the Yamask floated through the many alleyways of Ecruteak, tears flowing down her golden mask as she reminisced about the past. Unlike her ghost friends, Hanya was the only one who remembered the life she had before. She was grateful for her master, Morty, who treated her so well and allowed her to forget the past; the past was very painful. But at times like this when she was alone, she tends to remember. She doesn’t forget. She was floating towards the exit of the alley when she spotted a girl she has never met before. Pretty girl. Strange girl. Something was ‘off’ about the energy she was emitting. It was similar to…Morty. Strange. Very strange. Silently, Hanya floated towards the stranger, her golden mask reflecting the rays of the sun.
“Yamaaaaask.” Who are you?
