WELCOME TO Sunyshore City

A city that has always been held as a beacon of Sinnoh. Using the sun as a main resource and priding themselves as a economic icon. The bazaar would sell merchandise found no where else. The city prids its self on its Gearhead of an Administrator, Sherlock (Storm) Dragomir leading the city into a technological advanced era using the technology set up years ago by the Gym Leader Volkner. The port imported goods and exported bringing more economic value to their city. As a last stop before the Pokemon League, Sunyshore was full of strong trainers and a place where the children laughed and the people's attitudes matched the sunny atmosphere.

Until everything went wrong. The war struck and the city was dragged into tense times until Storm took the position of the City Administrator, unwilling to endure the pain of watching the beautiful city's ingenious technology go to waste. Though Storm did his best to keep things calm and relaxed in the City, encouraging people to stay wary of the war rather than fret about it constantly, the City went through turmoil before thriving under its Lux alignment. Clearly, there were still Nox supporters within their precious city of sunshine.

The light at the end of the tunnel seemed to be getting smaller and smaller as they went through their fair share of troubles despite Storm's constant vigilance, the lighthouse was openly used to send messages to Nox all over Sinnoh, an assassination of two Lux ships were blown up right in front of their eyes, and Nox low-life thieves stealing food from the remaining hotels. What did anyone do? They would not have done a thing without Storm pushing them to. Though the civilians were scared, Storm pulled them through to do what was right, and soon led to brighter outlooks for Sunyshore.

Over time, the City slowly grew accustomed to their laid-back (though serious) Administrator and his policies, making it a part of their everyday life to follow the simple rules he laid down for them. It took a while, but the City soon returned to its former glory (almost) with the help of Storm's engineering mind and engineers he brought in from all over Sinnoh to help keep the city on his feet.

Storm plans on keeping it this way until he is ready to shake Lux's hold from it once and for all.

❚ Entrances and Exits

There are only two direct ways in and out of Sunyshore. The first is from the West, from Route 222, while the second is from the North on the Shining Beach. It’s fairly unlikely to see anybody coming from the water unless it’s a cargo ship delivering goods to the shining city, but there are guards that find their posts there on the docks just in case. They check the ID of those delivering cargo, too, just to be safe. Even if you fly in to the city, expect to be confronted relatively quickly by a guard asking for identification, they’re just making sure things stay safe.

❚ Places of Note

A – The Pokemon Center. It still functions as a pokemon center, but it has been expanded (upward) to have two stories above ground and one below. The one below is filled mostly with electric-type pokemon that are treated well and live a relatively relaxed life until the power goes out, then they get to work supercharging the generator stored beneath the Center. The main two floors though have small kitchenettes (one per floor) for people staying in the Center while their pokemon are healed, or to get out of the PMSing coastal weather. There are couches, recliners, and futons scattered throughout for people and pokemon alike to rest on. You can also find a variety of books on shelves everywhere.

B – Sunyshore Square. The marketplace has been expanded to feature merchandise from all over the pokemon world, no longer just Sinnoh, and includes some specialty items that vary with the vendor’s mood or the seasons. Apartment buildings have been built up around here to serve as housing that is relatively close to the market so people don’t have to go far from their homes to get what they need. It’s relatively convenient. The sides of the market building have had metal panels installed in them that can lift or drop depending on the weather. If it’s nice, the market will be open-air, but if it’s not, it will be protected from the elements.

At night, this pleasant little market is another story – it’s still a hive for the Sinnoh Black Market. Disbanding it is Storm’s current, largest objective. He and his task force are working to gather more information about it to prove that it is a Black Market stop. They’re close, but they want to be absolutely positive before taking any action to get it dissolved so they cannot be told ‘No’.

C – The Gym. Though it’s no longer in much use, it still has some great benefits to Sunyshore, mostly being that Storm’s built it up to be as sturdy as a bomb shelter, Arceus forbid it’s needed for that purpose. He also finds himself spending time here if he needs to get away from it all for the time being.

D – Vista Lighthouse. It's still used actively nowadays to signal ships where they are in comparison to the shore. It's been a target of Nox hostiles in the past, and stands fairly well-guarded for this reason.

E – Storm’s house (right) and town hall (left). This is where court cases will be held in public disputes, and this is also where the City Council will meet whenever they need to. Otherwise the building is largely unused unless there’s a City-wide event being hosted by one of the richer families or Storm himself.

F – The guard house. All working men and women of Storm’s taskforce and city security are provided lodging here. They need to buy their own food to contribute to the overall pot, but there is a large kitchen with townspeople that have volunteered to cook for them as thanks for their service.

❚ Landmarks and Places to Be

A – Shining Beach Resort. There’s about four hotels (one of average price, and each one progressively more expensive but greater quality) that line the beach and look out onto the harbor and/or water. The beach is open, too, to everyone of Sunyshore as a public place. It is expected that people won’t be dumb enough to litter and make it an unpleasant sight. You will most likely get caught and fined if you do.

B – Solar Panel Highwalk. Storm has kept this going since he first came to Sunyshore, not wanting the idea Volkner had when installing them in the first place to go to waste. Everyone is free to walk up here so long as they know their limits and where not to go. The Solar Panels generate roughly 90% of the energy used by Sunyshore, and Storm is working on improving this even more.

C – Munchlax Rock. As the name states, this rock has been carved by the sea in the shape of a Munchlax. Though there’s nothing of incredible importance of this figure, it’s a nice place for seabird pokemon and other sea-dwelling pokemon that can bear to be on land to hang out and relax.

THE LAW

BOARDING - Residents are, for no resaon, able to claim themselves homeless. With the Black Market in Sunyshore ravaging the streets at night, Sunyshore is still a dangerous place due to the condition of most Sinnoh cities being Nox affiliated and Nox running rampant around Sinnoh at the moment. Being a famous tourist attraction in the past for its pristine location, there are many hotels. Few have remained hotels (and become even higher quality), while many have been converted into low-rent apartments that are required to give travelers one night and morning meal free stay.

SUNFALL CURFEW - Mostly for the safety of citizens, no person under the age of 18 years is to be out past 2130 hours. Then until 2359 hours are required to have Identification proving that they are over the age of 18 years. Being caught out after curfew will likely not receive too steep a penalty (to be decided by City Administrator Storm), but break this rule too many times and he won't be as lenient.

INDIVIDUAL IDENTIFICATION - Identification is required and all citizens must have their Identification cards on thier person at all times. If found at the various city checkpoints without identification they will be sent to the Town Hall and interrogated to minimize the possibility of a threat from within. If you have no ID, it will be assumed instantly that you are up to no good.


PROPAGANDA RESTRICTION - Normally you'd expect pro-Lux propaganda to be favored, right? Well, not quite. Don't talk about Lux or Nox outside of what you read in The PRErequisite for your morning paper. Keeping mention of either faction in this war is discouraged for the sake of trying to keep things relatively calm in Sunyshore.

BEARING ARMS - All citizens have the rights to bear a weapon. Pokemon however are a privilege. Abuse of pokemon, or of their powers will be seen as an abuse of a privilege and taken away. You will be unable to own Pokemon inside the city parameters if you are found incapable of handling the responsibility. Guns or any other weapon of choice are allowed in the homes, all weapons must be concealed in public. If seen, it will be confiscated from you and held at Town Hall where you must present your license for said weapon, prove that you are lux, and on top of that pay the fine for it.

SPREAD THE WEALTH AROUND - The wealthy of Sunyshore are respected greatly for their donations for the common good, and the workers that use the money to keep Sunyshore going as a functional City are just as respected. However, in Sunyshore keep in mind that the richer you are, the steeper your taxes will be.

CITY COUNCIL

These are the people that make the decisions of what happens in Sunyshore. Though Storm has the final say in what goes down in his City, he wants others to bounce ideas off of. He believes it's good for the creative process, and is always open to hearing the opinions of others or things they've heard around the City of what the everyday man want. The Council consists of...

The Mayor (1) - The one who has the final say, runs your city, keeps you safe, and keeps you happy.

The Advisors (2) - The right and left hands of the City Administrator, the people the Administrator goes to if he has a problem and doesn't want to call a council to order.

The Councilmen (x) - Ordinary citizens (most likely of some public status) that participate in aiming to make Sunyshore a better place to live, and one more well-equipped to handle being a, Arceus forbid, location for the next battle waged between Lux and Nox.

Sherlock (Storm) Dragomir, a Hoenn native that became a man through his life in Sinnoh. Many people confused him as Volkner himself when he first arrived (and some still do). He has been with the City since before the war, and stepped in soon after it began to prevent it from a terrible spiral downward, falling from the grace it had seen over the years. Though he's had his troubles, he has managed to keep it running as something that he likes to think is better than what it used to be.

CIRCUIT

Circuit is an elite branch of Engineers hand picked from all across Sinnoh to help create gadgets and gizmos to be shipped off to use as Lux's tools of war. Engineers, Scientists, Inventors of all kinds are allowed here to work for the greater good. This Branch is overseen by Storm.

BASTION

While Circuit is the brains of Sunyshore, you can't just leave the city undefended right? We need our Brawns as well. So thats where the Bastion stand. Bastion patrol the naval borders but not only that, they are our Nightwatchmen who make sure that our laws are followed and no one without identification and permits are out at night. They patrol our land borders and essentially are our police force. They may be Lux soldiers who Storm was allowed to reel in or for all you know they may be Nox Spies who Storm is placing for placing for future purposes. Both Nox and Lux have purpose to join the Bastion. He needs defenses people. The City of Sunyshore needs to be soothed that they are being protected. That is the Bastions job. They will be doing a mixture of both public shows of protection and getting down to the nitty gritty and fighting off any attacks headed by the Defense Coordinator.
