Varnock, Triad, & Alice fanart post.

Shadows converge upon a single target; the singularity of different, independent entities merged together by a common thought, and will, drove them. A triad of silhouettes stalk a fourth, unrelated shadow. A wanderer, by all means and descriptions, they were informed. The man walked with his head low. Not out of lack of pride of stature, but a subconscious attempt to remain hidden.
The waves rocked against the harbor with incessant impetus. Underneath the sound of crashing waves, fumbling foam and seagulls in the distance, the spy would move unto a certain pier. The shipped dock was of simple make, old and rickety by all standards. An old man offered passage for a few bucks and the spy would comply, unaware of the shadows in pursuit.
The boat sways, even as he steps unto the deck. Yet, with his step comes the flapping wings of a bat. Alarmed, yet horrible composed, the youth turns and lifts a and unto which his crobat would perch. It seemed bewildered, the pokemon begins flapping it wings with dedicated precision. A humble haze would begin to lift from the sea, rising higher as the boat drifted off. Confused, Varnock would tilt is head and stare at the bat for a few seconds before realization set in.
Three shadows rush the dock now, gaining speed in an attempt to jump unto the ship before it is beyond reach.
In answer, Varnock allows two pokeballs to fall from his belt while moving back and ordering a quiet command unto his bat. With a glint of light in its small eyes, the crobat seemed to smile even as the light grew bigger, beaming like a ray unto shore. The trap was set, piercing the foggy haze unto the pier. One of the three shadows approaching seemed to stumble and fall, confused by the ray of light that momentarily blinded him. Meanwhile, as two round shapes emerge from his pokeballs the spy gave two more commands.
Ike would summon stones from the harbor’s sand to rise, hidden underneath the haze, while Clint allowed a volley of spikes to leave his form and litter the track of harbor the shadows had not yet reached. “Speed the boat up!” The youth commanded, losing part of his composure at the coming threat. In answer, a female voice replies from the captain’s deck. Wasn’t an old man the captain? He ignores the thought as he sees something glint in the distance.
A beam of light and the silhouette of a pokemon summoned. An ice beam ripped across the distance between the port and boat, but it was met with resistance from the Stealth Rocks along the way. Besides him, under the guise of a passing breeze, a Gallade teleported and appeared on deck while readying an attack aimed directly at Varnock. Cursing, he stumbles back; and, in his falling, his Crobat would attack the gallade in a flurry of acrobatics and bites, driving the pokemon away from its master.
“Ike!”
The steel and grass dual type complied without having been given an order, spinning in place to deliver a powerful whip right unto the Gallade’s back, pushing the pokemon right off the boat and unto the water.
The spy gets up and calls back all his pokemon except the Crobat, and released a fourth and fifth A Chandeleur would emerge from the flashing, red light and spin twice, eager to receive orders, while besides it an Empoleon would stand quiet and solemn . “Just burn it all.” The man whispered, rubbing a hand to his temple. Obeying, Ran’s flames would flicker with increased intensity, and its eyes would flicker in all sorts of colors. Turning, so its flames faced port, it would release purple flames, creating an inferno of heat and burning. The rocks summoned earlier would be set ablaze, destroying any hope the assassins (Varnock could only assume) had of using them as foot holds.
The metal penguin seemed to loathe the flames, but its pride would not let it show weakness as it stood besides its master. Yet, his Master knew better than to allow Piper to stand there with so much heat going on. “Get in the water and swim beneath the ship, pay attention to all and everything. In the meantime, cover us.” The man orders, tapping the pokemon’s back before it dived into the water happily. Moments later, with sufficient distance between the purple inferno behind them, a thick mist would rise from the sea and cover the boat.
With the mist, however, came relaxation. Tense shoulders slouched down as Varnock sat down. Tired, a bit overwhelmed by the sudden event. Everything was so surreal, unnatural even. Behind him, however, emerges the ship’s captain with a young girl. The old man seemed rather nervous, albeit collected despite the possibilities of what might’ve happened to ship if the young man was unable to keep his pursuers at bay. “I’m sorry about this… I’ll make it worth your trouble, so long as we don’t comment anything, to anyone else.” He would speak, struggling with words as he stood. The boat was rocking, and he felt almost nauseous.
“Oh, you can trust her. I was fast asleep! She's the one that started the ship!” The old man replied with a beaming smile.
“And she is?”
Extending a hand with a polite smile, the girl answers:
“Alice. Alice Gentile.”
