FULL NAME Rylan Landon BACKGROUND Born twenty-seven years ago in the peaceful town of Pewter, Rye's life began with a tragedy. While he was born healthy, his twin was stillborn. The family immediately began trying for a second child, to replace the little girl they'd lost. Rye's mother got pregnant again two months after his birth. The pregnancy was ectopic, and wasn't spotted until she collapsed. She died before emergency services could even get to the scene. With the death of his wife, Rye's father threw himself into his work. Rye was raised by a string of nannies and babysitters. He was a difficult child, always demanding latest toy, more attention, or to be freed from the confines of a bedtime, but it was assumed he'd grow it of it. He didn't. The entitled attitude carried on into adulthood, and thanks to his rich father's booming business, Rye is accustomed to getting whatever he wants. Unfortunately, what he wants often comes at other's expense. Rye has a controlling, sadistic nature, and a compulsive need for power. Now that he's a prison guard, Rye spends much of his time dealing out petty indignities. He instructs guards one step down the ladder of hierarchy to fetch his coffee. He runs prisoners through pointless games of "Stand up. Now sit down. Now stand up." Rye prefers soothing his whimsical but cruel impulses to systematic dehumanization tactics, but lately, he's been considering undergoing training to become an interrogator. Birthday: May 11 OCCUPATION Rylan is a rich boy, and as such, doesn't need money from Lux to survive. ALLEGIANCE Lux. He loves that he can hide out in the ranks and use his power however he chooses. Rye has learned that, considering his relative wealth and facade of respectability, he can use membership in a major organization to his advantage. But he does hide that before the war, he raped and killed a woman he had a crush on after she turned him down.
