You know, if 232 had been told that buying that garden set for Nedra would prompt her wanting to return the goddamn one she stole a year and a few months ago … Nah, he’d still have bought it. Still, though, definitely not what he would have expected. Then again, when has she ever been?

“Who’s to say it’s still his house, anyway?” 232 whispered at Nedra’s overall direction. And here he’d been, getting around to thinking some of his ideas were weird. Oh well.

Humming happily beneath her breath, Nedra edged her way down the path, ducking around corners and turns in the road as though she were a spy in enemy territory. In her backpack, in addition to her usual array of unusual items, was a certain stone Pokemon statuette.

"Well, it probably is. Who moves during a war?" Nedra whispered back. "Besides, we can't really knock on the door and check- well, I mean, technically we could, but I don't think it'd be a good idea."

Up ahead, she could see the familiar yard she'd stolen the little decorative object from. It was still in good condition. Better than it'd have been out here, since she'd kept it inside, away from the elements. "okay, you wait here, and I'll go put it back- unless you're brave enough to come with me."

It took a moment of trying not to comment on Nedra playing at 007 before her words registered. He'd decided, by that time, that there was no point in ruining her fun, anyway.

Psh, brave. 232 wasn't really all that brave, but risk taking? Well, that used to be Mr. Grant's middle name.

For Nedra, his friend? There couldn't be any harm in it being that way again, at least not for a little while. "Please, that's nothing." There was no way he'd let her go alone. Not because she couldn't handle it, nah, more that it just wouldn't be half as fun of a story to say he waited around while she put the damn ornament back where it came from.

232 took a last minute glance around, and then signaled for her to go ahead. He'd be right behind her.
