FULL NAME Although commonly known as Platinum, or Plat to a few close friends, her birth name is actually Platina Berlitz. Ever since she was small Platinum always despised her first name, and always asked people to call her Platinum instead. BACKGROUND There was once a famous trainer that fell in love with a talented coordinator. They traveled the world together, exploring every little nook and cranny. But one day they decided to settle down and have a family, the end result was Platinum. Platinum was born on December 3rd in a hospital in Jubilife. The Berlitz family lived in Jubilife City for four years, while there they attended all sorts of pokemon events. Every time they would bring Platinum along. She was always excited to see the pokemon. They were just oh so fascinating for a little girl. But her parents decided to move to the country when Platinum was four; they wanted the slower pace life style. Finding a lovely little home in Twinleaf the Berlitz family moved away from the big and busy city of Jubilife. The town of Twinleaf was not a very big place, and there weren't many kids Platinums age. One of the few kinds in town was Pearl, her neighbor. The two became fast friends exploring the small town, looking for adventure. Soon the confines of the town became too small for their sense of adventure, seeing a TV broadcast about a red gyarados the two decide to go to the nearby lake and hunt for a red gyarados of their own. The only obstacle was the tall patch of grass between Twinleaf and Lake Verity, where numerous wild pokemon lurked. Pearl suggseted that if they run through the grass fast enough, maybe the pokemon wouldn't attack the pair. Believing Pearl, the pair ran through the grass and, spoiler alert, they attacked by pokemon. Two vicious Starlys attack the pair. Running for their lives Platinum and Pearl stumbled onto a briefcase. Hoping that something was in their to save them, the kids opened it up. As luck would have it there were three pokeballs still among a stack of papers and files. Grabbing the pokeballs they sent out the pokemon inside of them to fight the two birds. Neither Platinum or Pearl saw the pokemon they were using before, but combing their might they managed to take out the Starlys. Professor Rowan and his assistant, Diamond, found Platinum and Pearl celebrating their victory. The briefcase belonged to Rowan, and was lost on his trip to Sandgem. Upon seeing the open briefcase he was upset, stupid kids went through his things! But the two defeated Starlys, which were lying on the ground in severe pain, touched his heart. These kids were meant to be trainers. The Professor decided to give the two kids the pokemon they used in the fight. Telling the kids to visit him in Sandgem, Rowan parted ways with Platinum and Pearl. The two forged onto lake Verity. Once there they were very disappointed that they didn't find that red Gyarados, instead they found some old creep job that was rambling about one thing or another. Returning home Platinum's parents were ecstatic that she met Rowan and was given a pokemon, they even forgot that Platinum put her life in danger by running unprotected into tall grass like an idiot. Giving her a fancy new pair of shoes, they sent her out the eleven year old alone on her pokemon journey like any responsible parent. Stopping in at Rowan's place, Platinum was given a pokedex. Thankful for the device and the pokemon, Platinum swore to help record as many pokemon in the region as she could. With her new pokemon at her side Platinum began exploring Sinnoh. Traveling from town to town Platinum would take on any challenge there, be it gym or contest. She was crushing gyms, and coming first in small local coordination contest. People were stunned by the fact that such a young girl could easily balance both, and do well. Soon people started to talk about her, and before Platinum knew it her name started to carry weight within Sinnoh. But the gyms and the contests weren't Platinum's biggest challenge in her first journey, it was Team Galactic. Meeting the wicked, almost cult like group, first in Jubilife they soon became a sore in Platinum's side. They seem to be at every corner, causing some kind of trouble her, Pearl, or Diamond had to put a stop to. It only got worse when Team Galactic kidnapped the three Lake Guardians. The young kids had no choice but to break into their headquarters in Veilstone to free the Lake Guardians. But when they got there the Galactic leader, Cyrus, was long gone. He had used the legendary pokemon to form the Red Chain and then left for Spiral Pillar. The trio chased him there, and arrived in time to witness him summoning Dialga and Palkia. The situation looked like a giant steam shit sandwich that Platinum had to take a big ol' bite of, as Cyrus was in control of the two pokemon. But suddenly a portal was ripped open, and Cyrus was sucked inside. Not knowing what happened, Platinum chased after Cyrus into the Distortion World. She found herself in a strange world, a setting that Platinum still struggles to find words for. Traversing the void with the aid of the Lake Guardians, the Berlitz girl managed to find Cyrus. With the help of her pokemon, Platinum was barely able to defeat Cyrus. Upon his defeat, Giratina swooped in to clean up the mess. He decimated Platinum and opened a new portal to bring her home. Cyrus fled, claiming he wanted to stay in this place. Being dumped on Spear Pillar all that the Berlitz girl could find of Cyrus was the broken Red Chain lying on the ground. Slipping a piece of it into her pocket, Platinum left the place shaken. (Diamond may or may not be involved, depends on the people that play him). The fight with Cyrus and Giratina left Platinum unsure of her skills. Never before in her life had she struggled so much, or been crushed so hard. It took her a month before she was finally able to leave her parents home, let alone continue her journey. After finally going back into the real world, Platinum trained non-stop. She was worried she wouldn't be able to defeat the final gym leader, Volkner. But when the time came Platinum managed to defeat the electric gym leader. Turning her sights on the Elite Four, Platinum resumed her training once again before taking the challenge. When Platinum did take on Sinnoh's Elite Four she managed to get all the way to the champion, Cynthia. It was a close fight, it all came down to one pokemon left for each of them. But in the end Platinum was reminded of her fight with Cyrus, and choked. Losing to Cynthia wasn't as hard on Platinum as losing in the Distorted World. But it was still hard. She returned home and relaxed for awhile, enjoying some homemade cooking. But when the itch for adventure became too much to ignore, Platinum left to go to the Battle Zone. There she had to deal with more Galactic trouble. Once that was out of the way, Berlitz wanted to be done with Galactic completely. So she left the region. She traveled abroad for years, taking on whatever challenge she could find. Soon this became her lifestyle, traveling from place to place. Contest to gym. Really it wasn't until Lux was founded that Platinum did anything really significant again in her life. She was one of the early supports of Lux, using her fame as a trainer to help bring in people. When the war broke out, Platinum was one of the first to join Lux on the battlefields. Still traveling from region to region, Platinum spent the first few years of the war helping Lux where ever it needed her. She became familiar with death, probably too much. It didn't take long for Platinum to just be okay will killing Nox soliders and pokemon. Even when her own pokemon began to die, she barely showed any outward expression. The more time she spent fighting, the more she withdrew into herself. Platinum wasn't the happy little girl at the start of her journey anymore. Eventually Platinum returned to Sinnoh, it was her home. It was here that Platinum realized she had to do more than just fight to defeat Nox, she had to lead. She knew the only way to eliminate them was to lead Lux herself, that she was the only one capable of doing it. In her mind she kept telling herself she would end Nox. Permanently. OCCUPATION Before the war Platinum was known as an Ace Trainer. She spent her time exploring the five regions, taking on every challenge she could find. ALLEGIANCE Ever since the early days of the war, Platinum has been an avid supporter of Lux. Due to her experience with Team Galactic, Platinum felt like Lux's actions were necessary to protect the five regions. Since the start of the war she has seen the best and worst of Lux and Nox. Despite some of the awful things that Lux has done, Platinum believes that Lux is the only good long term solution for the five regions. TRAITS |
