She remembered running into Leaf at the Celadon Department Store recently; back then, Platinum had been fool enough to consider purchasing a pair of five-inch stiletto heels to replace her old pair of trusty but dying boots. Well, she'd been wearing this pair of stilettos for scarcely half an hour, and her toes were already begging for sweet mercy. The battle wasn't over yet either, and Platinum didn't think it'd be appropriate to duck into a shop to ask if they by chance sold any comfy flip-flops. There were other trainers ahead of her, and Platinum's first priority was the lighthouse. She took some time to bring her gardevoir back out, the psychic pokemon wishing her stamina back, and doing the same for Dash. The rapidash could barely move when Platinum called him out of his pokeball, but when Voir was done with him, he stood steady on his feet, which was good. Platinum traveled far faster on a mount than limping on her feet. She beelined for the lighthouse, pulling the rapidash to sharp halt when she another trainer barred her way at the entrance. The odds weren't with her. With Chomp and Sol unconscious, she had only four pokemon to count on, but she always had her gun. It was loaded, but she didn't want to use it yet, not when she hadn't tried all her other options. "We don't have to fight! I don't want to fight,"

[/color] she called out from atop the rapidash's back. She'd have to dismount if they were to battle--or maybe. Her other pokemon could battle; right now, Platinum wanted to avoid standing on her own two feet for as long as possible, but she'd have to dismount soon anyway as soon as she stepped inside.

"The lighthouse doesn't have to fall either! You've all made your point already. Can't we just hug this all out, and then Nox can just leave?"[/color] she pleaded.

His patience was literally flaking away as the trainer stood there, tapping his foot in sync with the steady crashing of waves in the distance; the lighthouse in the distance had seemed faint when he had first landed on the abandoned beach shore but now, it was almost towering over him, looming and rigid in the very heart of Olivine city. He thought of the first battle with the man on his braviary; they had never really gotten to know each other but he had to admit, it was a great battle while things had lasted. Exhilarating, and that was only to say the very, very least.

Shade had retreated to his pokeball to get some well deserved rest, and even though the umbreon had not looked particularly happy even when he had won, with some encouragement from Gold, he eventually conceded, cracking a rare smile before obliging to the prospect of resting. Now that the umbreon was gone, Gold was all by himself; his other pokemon stood out too much and while Princess had been willing to accompany him, he didn't see much point in having the sassy puffball beside him other than to rile him up even further than he already had by the mocking of the first Lux member encountered. The plus side to all this was the fact that he hadn't met any other Lux members because frankly, the beach was just about deserted. The down side - every impression counted, and he hadn't gotten a good one from Xander at all. It made him want to punch any other Lux member that got in his way, quite honestly.

He had broken out into the run after he had succeeded in beating the other man; everything paid off now that he was comfortably situated on guard duty and he flicked off the pair of shades that he had worn just for the occasion with one swift finger motion and readied a pokeball in his other palm at virtually the same time; Nox had told him to guard the place while two other members infiltrated the lighthouse and when the figure in the distance began to come towards him faster and faster, he knew that this could only mean trouble. From the way that she talked, she was clearly Lux and he couldn't help but sneer at the words that left her lips as she drew closer; surely, this was a last ditch effort by Lux now that Nox had already gotten what they had wanted? "Unfortunately, we do. You want in, don't you?" The finger was almost touching the button but he refrained himself from releasing his pokemon just yet. His attitude seemed almost different, confirmed by the feeling in the pit of his stomach. Perhaps the avian from before had rubbed off on him a bit.

"Frankly, hugging's not going to solve anything here," He shrugged his shoulders up and down; it really didn't matter either way, as long as they achieved their goal. "and Nox's already come this far; why back out now?" He gripped the sphere tighter in his palm and smiled mockingly at her, sarcasm dripping off every word. "Oh, but we'll leave. After we've done what we need to do, that is. Now are you going to fight or not?" He really didn't have time for all this chatter. Yes or no, then he would decide from there.

The point though was that he looked pretty fresh for a fight, while Platinum knew she and her pokemon were running low on steam. "You could just let me in. Why not? If I can't stop the lighthouse from falling, then I'll be crushed in the rubble. If I can, Olivine City's already a warzone anyway. You win either way if you'll let me pass,"

[/color] she pleaded, already knowing that it was a futile effort. Platinum had tried to conjure up some vain hope, but it was grasping at straws at this point. This war never seemed to run out of battles, and today was hardly the day for diplomatic reconciliation.

Platinum scowled; she knew he didn't say anything unreasonable, but at least a pretense of a peaceful option would've been appreciated. She stayed sitting on Dash's back; one hand still held her handgun, but the other went for a pokeball. "It has to be a fight--I'm a trainer. I wouldn't run even if it weren't a war,"[/color] she answered. It was true enough.

She threw the pokeball, and from the red light, Rio emerged. He was the least spent of her pokemon, and hopefully he'd be some use to her here (Leon was similarly untouched by the previous battle, but Leon was also still fast asleep). Dash pranced forwards, keeping a fair distance to keep his trainer safe, nevermind that unless Platinum dismounted, he'd have to enter a melee eventually with her in tow.

"Rio, swords dance. Dash, be ready to move."[/color] Platinum issued her orders with a practiced trainer's ease, but she didn't feel very confident at all about this battle. Still, she'll have to try her best.

He was aware of the fact that there were members on both sides that didn't want this war in the first place; quite frankly, he didn't really know where he stood on that spectrum. Gold liked to fight, that was what he lived for, and from the perspective that he was standing at, this was the perfect opportunity to test just how strong he had gotten over the past few years. The Lux member in front of him was strikingly similar to himself in age, unlike the other man; and he could deduce from the Rapidash that she was riding that this was going to be an exciting battle. He felt as if it was a mistake to be thinking like he was, but then again, Nox was really just happy as long as he managed to defend the lighthouse from Lux members, never mind in what fashion. Fighting definitely counted as one of them.

"Sorry. No can do." He shook his head, suddenly aware that the sarcasm he had intended might have come off as rude. It was only natural, seeing as guard duty wasn't top on his favorites list, and the wait had been quite long before this trainer had shown up. The first string of words brushed past him and he took no interest in them; the second statement had much more of a spark to them and his eyes immediately lit up, the light grin cracking his features as he became aware of his grip tightening on the pokeball in hand. "Glad to hear. I feel the same way, honestly." As much as he was trying to make his tone sound better than it had been before now that the young man realized how he had come off as before, most of him was still much more interested in what pokemon she would bring out. The avian from before had a Braviary; Lux were pulling out the big shots on this one.

She threw her pokeball in the air and he simultaneously did the same; while her pokemon was slightly smaller in size than his own, he had learned long ago that size never amounted to anything. Her rapidash also moved forwards; was he going to participate with her riding on his back? Despite the absurdity in the amount of danger that it posed to her, he flicked a finger into the pouch hanging by his side and touched another pokeball just in case his suspicions were confirmed, but not before.

"Aqua." Only the nod of her head showed that she was listening to him and he smiled, glad that she had remembered their training enough to not divert her attention fully to him when he spoke. "Dragon Dance. Keep an eye out for the Rapidash." It was unwise to get close, the trainer speculated as he narrowed his eyes; for the time being, they were going to have to wait until the opponent came to them.

The other trainer had spotted her on the field and issued a challenge--or had she issued the challenge? It didn't matter. It was either going to be an awkward staring contest or a battle, and that was almost like the days before the war when she trudged through Sinnoh with a point to prove. Platinum had seen a couple dragonairs before, but only when they lurked in the water while she fished. She'd never fought on before, but she didn't mind the opportunity to now. "She gorgeous,"

[/color] Platinum cooed before she could shut herself up. She didn't lie; the creature had the sort of grace that would've done any coordinator proud, and even with the chaos around her, she liked pretty things.

She shook her head to clear her thoughts. Here she was, in a region she barely knew, fighting a pokemon she barely recognized. Besides for the war, Platinum couldn't complain--as a trainer, there wasn't much else she lived for. "Rio, extremespeed,"[/color] she ordered, figuring that whatever may come, it'd be best for the lucario to land the first blow.

As Rio geared up for an assault, Dash moved in for an attack, lower his head in the beginnings of a megahorn. Platinum didn't blame him for wanting to help his friend, but she seized the fire pokemon by the mane, scalding her hands in his flames. "No, Dash, not yet. If he'll keep this a one-on-one battle, then we should too."

He was certain that he was not the only one that was rather shocked when the other trainer complimented his pokemon; Aqua had her back turned to him but he imagined that she had to be confused, a feeling that they both shared at the moment. Gold’s first thought was what her purpose in saying such was; he had not known any trainer to say things without the thought of getting the advantage to their own side. Then, that slight flare of doubt was suppressed, leaving him feeling almost guilty, but not quite enough for it to get to him necessarily. Lux were many things - their ideals were wrong and the rules were nothing short of making the organization a dictatorship – but they were not cowardly, for he had never met any that resorted to low blows and hidden ideals within their words. Sarcasm and rude words were quite common – he had learned such with the first man he had met – but when it came to battling, he was in no position to judge from what he had experienced beforehand. Instead, the trainer almost smiled, letting a small curve play on his lips and hoped that Aqua had perceived the same as him. “Thank you.” Somewhere in the back of his mind, he made the mental note to return the favor before the battle was done.

As Aqua continued to move about almost in a hypnotic fashion – the long, coiling fashion of her body added to that effect – he heard a command from his opponent, and it clicked in the back of his mind that this was finally it; it was finally going to start. However, he did not counter with a command of his own; there was no need to counter an attack that was that fast and Aqua was aware of this as well, concentrating on dancing more fervently than usual before the impact landed, pushing her backwards on the sand and closer to where Gold himself stood.

“Dragon Rush.” He spoke those two words and even while Rio was still upon her she complied, letting a blue glow surround her as she used her tail from behind to support her against the attack. The horn on her head began to glow a bright shade of blue as the glow around her intensified and became an almost protective sphere that shielded her body from the oncoming attack; he couldn’t help but remember the time that they had been training with the same move at the ruins and hoped that she recalled that time as well. With mistakes came the opportunity for improvement, and if she took what she had learned back then and utilized it here he hoped that it would bring out her full potential as well. Her tail was growing steadier; he could see it from this distance and gripped the pokeball in his outstretched palm a bit tighter as he noticed the rapidash lowering his horn at the same time she charged towards the Lucario with all her might, relaxing only slightly as his trainer restrained him with a touch to the mane. If he interfered, then he was going to bring in backup as well.

Wartime wasn't the best moments for warm pleasantries, but that little bit there startled her in a good way. The dragonair startled her too, but in a bad way. Platinum paled when she saw the force of the dragonair's attack ever before it made contact. Rio had already expended a burst of speed for his attack, and he wasn't prepared to dodge this attack, although by the looks of it, the dragonair had practiced the move, and Platinum doubted Rio could've avoided the attack anyway. The lucario flinched and the dragon rush struck home. He was thrown back, spasming in the air as it tumbled. It landed with some modicum of grace onto his feet, but when he should've geared up for another attack, whatever Platinum's command may be, she could see plainly that this round was one for him to recuperate. These sort of things happened, unfortunately. Like anything else unexpected that happened in a battle, she'd just have to roll with it. "Breathe, Rio! It's alright; you've taken worse hits. Stand up and get some height," Platinum said, her voice encouraging and gentle although she couldn't hide her worry. The situation was fine still; as a fully-evolved steel pokemon, she suspected Rio was more resilient than the dragonair, although it was the dragonair that had unleashed the stronger attack. Rio had landed the first hit, but that was equalized now as her pokemon needed time to gather his wits about him again. Rio got to his feet, an easy enough task and it seemed like his wounds were minor. He leapt up to the rooftop of the nearest building, large warehouse or something similar, setting foot on it easily. Hopefully, the building was empty. If the dragonair wanted to attack physically, then a single close combat could bring the whole building down on the both of them. Truthfully, he had forgotten the extra effect that came with the dragonair’s attack until he noticed the Lucario’s condition and felt a vague sense of pleasure that they had been lucky enough this time, though it faded away in no time and he was aware that it’s only purpose was to alert him of a potential opportunity to land a second attack while Rio was catching his breath, so to speak. However, he was hesitant to speak for a moment; the chance seemed way too good to be true and he did not recall the last time something like this had happened, and how long it took the other to recover and gear up for a second attack. Lucario was a fighting type, if he was not mistaken; surely, it was very, very skilled in hand to hand combat and they had only been able to get that attack through because he had been off guard for that split second?

The entire time he was thinking, the trainer was aware from the corner of his eye that just because their opponent was unable to attack for the time being didn’t mean that it restricted their movements as well – it was only further proven by the fact that the other trainer had commanded her Pokémon to ‘gain some height’ and the Lucario had complied with ease. However, he was not sure what they were getting at, and that made him doubtful, hesitant, even. The battlefield that they were currently on had proven to be no problem to either Pokémon, from what he had seen, so judging by the height change, he guessed that the opponent was trying to bring the advantage to their side instead. Her Lucario’s movements were swift and he could see how easily he had reached such a high position; Aqua, on the other hand, lacked the appendages to do so in her pre-evolution. Gold guessed that it would take at least another dragon rush to just get up onto the building itself, not to mention attacking the Lucario, and with an inwards curse at his foolishness he only then realized that they had never trained in a high position before, only among rough and rocky terrain.

“Think you can reach him from here?” Aqua looked over her shoulder and back at the Lucario’s current position a couple of times, calculating and thinking before finally giving a nod to him, earning her a grin in return. “Go for it, then.” Truly, it was risky, was the thought in his mind as the horn on her head began to glow a bright yellow this time, but they had practiced the move plenty of times before and even though it required some time for Aqua to recover before she was ready to move around again they could stick to blocking in that period of time. “Aim high.” He warned at the last minute, remembering that there was always the chance of civilians inside of the building and he was relieved when the dragonair gave a slight nod again before the charge was complete, the energy at the top of her horn exploding into a blast of hyper beam that cut across the sand and headed towards where the Lucario was currently situated, kicking up a slight breeze as it went.

Her last opponent had been clever and powerful, but it seemed like that Nox trainer had thought on the fly if he'd thought much at all (and not all trainers needed to), while this one definitely had a brain. Under any other circumstances, Platinum would've loved the chance to battle a craftier sort of trainer. For now though, she'd rather face down a mindless thug. Rio saw the hyper beam coming, and he wasn't too keen on being hit by such a powerful blast. He didn't need orders from Platinum before he leapt easily off the rooftop, diving for the dragonair with a blazing fast extremespeed. Rio waited until the last moment before he moved, the circumference of the beam shaving off a thin millimeter of fur from the top of his head as he dived parallel to it on a collision course with the dragonair. After the attack, he leapt and bounded to Platinum's side, glancing back to offer an apologetic shrug for going without orders. Platinum wasn't sure why he had to be apologetic about it at all. "You did good," Platinum replied. She could hardly complain that her pokemon avoided a devastating blow; she'd hoped that falling debris of the building could tangle or trap the less mobile dragonair to the light-footed lucario's advantage, but she didn't want it as a battleground if it meant Rio taking a hyper beam to the face. Platinum didn't have any pokemon that knew hyper beam, but she knew enough about the move. It was draining, taxing a pokemon for a while yet--but only if it hit. This dragonair would likely be good to go. "Why don't you get away from me? That way, there won't be any of those coming my direction," Platinum suggested with a tight smile. The beam missed. Disappointing to him, but not unexpected. While Gold had chosen to take the risk of hyper beam, he now recalled that even though it was a powerful and relatively quick move compared to other powerful moves, it was prone to missing against the more agile opponents, that of which this trainer's Lucario fit the bill perfectly. Briefly, he remembered when they were training, when Aqua looked fine after missing as opposed to the reaction he expected her to have, and he narrowed his eyes, scrutinizing her from behind, expecting something close to the same this time around. Aside from her taut body that suggested she was just as disappointed as he was, she seemed fine, and fairly energized. Mentally, the trainer shrugged. No harm, no foul, right?

That split second after the beam had passed he saw the Lucario move, but his lips had not even parted to give the order before he was upon them again, the speed something that Aqua couldn't even to follow, and it sent her tumbling back onto the sand again, now so close to her trainer that once she had gained her composure again, she moved forward a few feet so that the two of them were a reasonable distance apart. There was no way to dodge that attack, the trainer reflected, but Aqua didn't look too hurt and as long as they could plow through with the power Aqua had gained throughout all of their training, everything would work out in the end, right? Truly, strategizing wasn't quite his style but it was much easier if he wasn't battling alongside Flare, who only semed to encourage such habits with his strikingly similar personality and battle tactics to the trainer himself. He had learned one thing, though he doubted how that would help him in this type of situation. The Lucario could act on his own, without orders, so that was something that he was definitely going to have to ask Aqua to watch out for. Of course, she could also do such, but he preferred it when he was the one to give her orders. It gave him a sense of reassurance, true, but he also needed practice before he was going to become the very, very best. He'd seen his mistake in the order from before. Let's not try another one of those for awhile. A good choice, seeing as how easily it had been dodged before, and how the same thing could be done again.

Now the only trouble was how to counter the Lucario's speed. Certainly, matching extremespeed's was out of the question altogether, but he wanted Aqua's to be as close as she could possibly make it with the Lucario's when he wasn't using that move. Dragon dance had been a start, but obviously, that attack boost that had come with it hadn't been enough to cover the full potential of a speed boost. "Agility. Wait here and don't approach." The main thing that he was most worried about was still the fact that a serious advantage would be given to the Lucario if Aqua were to get close, his speed definitely outmatching her in the sense of attacking. And seeing as how strong he had gotten with swords dance before, such a move could prove to be risky on his end. Better safe than sorry.

Certainly it was a fair lot better than the quick attack of old, but Platinum doubted she could win this battle working as a one trick pony. Fighting at a distance was obviously a bad idea if the dragonair knew hyper beam. At some point, if the both of them decided to repeat the same tactics ad nauseum, surely a hyper beam would strike true, and then it'd be the pokemon center for Rio. Another dragon rush would probably do the trick too--Rio was powerful and agile, but a lucario wasn't exactly a tank, more like a glass cannon. The dragonair chose to bolster its speed rather than attack. Platinum didn't like that at all, although Rio seemed thankful enough for a brief reprieve. She considered taking the moment's respite to call Rio back and sent out Voir or Leon in his place. The empoleon had ice type attacks, and that'd be advantageous, but after a dragon dance and now an agility, the fresh Empoleon would be grossly outmatched. "Rio, one more go,"

[/color] she said, raising her voice for the lucario to hear her, now that he was a fair distance away. She nudged at Dash with her knees, and the fire pokemon trotted off to the side, circling the battlefield for a better vantage point on the dragonair. If Rio fell, Dash would be next up, even though Platinum doubted even his natural speed would be enough to match the empowered dragonair's. "Rush in on the dragonair if you can, Rio; if you can't, put it to rout. Close combat."[/color]

Dust and debris rising in his wake, Rio charged towards the dragonair, albeit without the lethal speed before. Close combat made for one hell of an attack, but afterwards, Rio's defenses would be down, and this clearly wasn't the sort of battle where you'd survive long on an all-out offense. Pulling Dash to a stop, Platinum swung a leg over the rapidash's back and dismounted, her stiletto heels landing with a click clack against the cobblestones.

Platinum kept an arm on Dash's back, staying the pokemon in case it got the urge to rush to Rio's aid. To the other trainer, she said, "You battle like a champion."[/color] It as a compliment, sure, but it wasn't a pleasantry. This battle might not have gone on for very long, but she knew expertise when she saw it. Who was this guy? Not the average youngster, but he didn't look much older than she was.

So far, he reflected that he had seen two of the four moves that was essential to every pokemon suited for battle; extremespeed, though it lacked just a bit in the power department, was a very quick attack and even though Aqua was bolstering up her speed for a counter-attack, he doubted that that would make much difference against the blur that appeared whenever the Lucario used such a move. Hell, he guessed if it had been anyone but Aqua, with two hits from that attack, they would have been at least out of breath, but she only looked shaky on her feet. How much of that was she hiding though? He had always had a close bond with all of his partners, but Aqua was one of the few that kept secrets from him. Flare was much more open, but he shook his head. His train of thought was getting off track again; it happened quite frequently after he had begun to try more of Silver’s tactics, instead of just recklessly charging all the time.

Confidence was something that he had plenty of but this trainer didn’t seem short of it herself; he couldn’t help but admire the tone of voice she adopted when issuing out commands – they were short and to the point, but at the same time, they were also strategized and thought through. Unlike him, who usually took awhile to come up with something worth trying. He was getting there. The trainer grinned inwardly to himself.

“Counter it.” There were only two options for the Dragonair to try, and now that they had revealed all four of their moves to the opponent – two at the start of battle and two just then – there seemed to be no need for him to actually issue out a command when Aqua was capable of fighting for herself. Besides, Gold had to admit that he actually felt a bit nervous along with the excitement that had buried itself into his gut at the start. Close Combat was nothing like Extremespeed; in fact, it could have almost been on par with Hyper Beam, without the side effects afterwards and only adding to the risk of the situation if Aqua were to get hit with that. Dragons were strong, but they could only endure and hold on for so long.

Somehow, he suspected that even if he had not spoken she would have known and she ceased her rather hypnotic movement almost instantly, her body enveloped in a familiar blue aura that had been present at the very beginning of battle as her opponent drew in closer and closer. Getting hit was inevitable, of course - she was not agile enough to dodge all of the blows even with her earlier stat-enhancing moves – but if she could counter the ones that she could not dodge while , at the same time, breaking through that defense and landing some hits of her own, it would mean that the Lucario would be damaged as well. Not everything would be lost.

“I try.” He had briefly contemplated smiling in a gesture that he appreciated her compliment but upon reflecting on the situation, he thought it better to return the favor instead. “I could say the same to you, in fact. Your Pokemon’s very strong. ” Of course, his speech diction contrasted sharply with hers but they weren’t here for small talk. A mouth that was fit after yelling battle cries the most part of his youth wasn’t going to change just like that. He didn’t want to change it. Aqua was surging forward and even as he spoke he retreated back, unwilling to bring the battle to himself despite the scenarios when they had been training. This was their fight, but at the moment, it wasn’t his. It was his confidence in Aqua that kept him from calling out to her, or speaking, frankly, after he had finished what he wanted to say.

She'd trained the lucario up as a riolu, and she could tell when he was on guard and when he thought of nothing but dealing out as much damage as he could. He struck true--as he tended to--but all his defenses were down, and Platinum wasn't surprised when the dragonair's attack threw him off balance, sending him tumbling backward along the ground back toward his trainer. As the lucario skidded down the cobbles, the impact tearing away at the stonework, until his body came to a stop, still and unconscious. Platinum would've given him a few good words before recalling him, but Rio wouldn't have heard her anyway. Instead, she run forward to kneel at his side, checking the extent of his wounds. Her conclusion: he'd be fine after some rest. That let her breathe a sigh of relief. "Thank you. If only you weren't standing between me and the lighthouse, then I'd be free to enjoy this match,"

[/color] she replied with a gracious smile, ladylike and proper, albeit with a bit of an edge. Some people thought manners should be discarded on the battlefield, but in her opinion, if battlefields had to exist, Platinum would much rather they be civilized than savage.

"You're up, Dash." As she pushed the button of Rio's pokeball to encase the lucario in its red light, Dash trotted up to stand beside her, head lowered and ready for a charge. He wanted to charge in with a flare blitz; Platinum knew that about Dash if only because the rapidash always wanted to charge in with a flare blitz. He wasn't actually a one trick pony though, and its fire attacks wouldn't be ideal against a dragon pokemon. The dragonair had taken a few hits now, and while Dash wasn't the strongest pokemon on her team, Platinum wasn't worrying about needing to whittle down the dragonair's stamina with poison or burns. "Charge in with megahorn."

There was no satisfaction in watching the opponent faint and he knew that Aqua felt the same as he did; either way, it was one down and Arceus knew how many more left to go. Some trainers had a lot of pokemon on their hands and some had none at all; he had more than one partner to fight with him and this trainer probably had the same thing up her sleeve. "Stay sharp." He warned to Aqua as she recalled her pokemon back into a pokeball to rest, certainly already thinking of what pokemon to send out next against the dragon-type. An Ice type? He shook his head. Too obvious.

The rapidash she had mounted on took up his partner's role and he found himself faced with yet another attack that was issued in that same short, crisp manner and with Aqua sustaining as much damage as she had up until that moment, there was really no way that she could avoid getting hit with that attack, even if she managed to lean to the side a bit before the horn of the pokemon jabbed sharply through her and sent her tumbling backwards on the sand. Gold was alarmed; the pupils that were shadowed beneath the looming figure of the lighthouse widened as he saw the effect a sucessful hit of a move so powerful could have. That, plus the attacks she had taken earlier on had taken their toll on her and Gold could plainly see it by her expression after the Lucario's attack and now following the Rapidash's. His finger fiddled at a pokeball in his pocket as he held the chosen sphere in front of him, giving a grin to the barely consious dragonair to show that she'd done great while replying to his opponent at the same time. "Another time then, maybe. I'm sure there'll be more pleasant battles in the future." While the chance that it would be the exact same opponent as this time was slim, there would be a lot less on the line. Unless, of course, it was another raid. The situations could very well have switched, even.

As he had spoken his hand had reached into his pouch to deposit Aqua's pokeball and in turn, reach for another that he held out in front of him, pressing the button in the center and letting the light materialize before speaking. "'s all you, Oracle." He thought he could almost hear the soft clicking of the pokemon's beak but for the most part, ignored it. "Hit 'em with a round of psychic."
