Thanatos lifted a hand to adjust the mask set upon his face as the plumes of smoke swelled from the destroyed houses on the ground beneath him, fizzling out of existence ever so slowly as water from the pokemon-caused tsunami steeped the tinder that fire relied so heavily on. The winds of the Hurricane around them were fading as well. Thanatos’ personal job for the day was done. Goldenrod City had ceased to exist. There was nothing here now except for the ruin of buildings, fire, dead bodies lying, and massive fissures in the ground that had not been disrupted in centuries. Of course, he’d had some help from Ragnarok, but that didn’t quell the point.
Goldenrod City was gone.
The duo upon the back of the Salamence were the fire and ice that had personally ravaged the city to nothingness. I work alone. Thanatos reminded himself, blinking behind his mask. But that wasn’t to say the help from Ragnarok wasn’t unappreciated. Hell, the black-cloaked teenager came close to enjoying the other, if not for any reason but the fact he destroyed alongside Thanatos without question.
Silently, Thanatos drew a pokeball from his belt, summoning forth Pride, his own Salamence. The arrogant beast flew quietly next to the dragon his Master sat upon. ”Take this.” He held out the pokeball of his Wailord, whom he could say lying still save for the rise and fall of its sides far down below outside of the eye of the storm. ”Return him. Come back to me. Go.”
The creature obeyed, taking the pokeball carefully in his mouth before flying artfully through the eye wall and braving the dying winds to drop the pokeball upon the Wailord and return the capsule to his trainer. ”One more.” He exchanged the Wailords pokeball, placing it inside his cloak, with that of Lust’s. ”Go get Gyarados.” The dragon flew off.
”We should head Northeast. Get away from the city. They’ll be looking for us.”
