Ruby wasn't planning on staying in Azalea, no, he just wanted to walk through. Well, really he wanted to get out of here as fast as he possibly could. It was a Lux-dominated city, and although the people didn't sem too hardcore, you could never be too careful. He had to keep his head down here, it would be pretty bad if he was recognized. Not only keep his head down though, Ruby had to keep his eyes open for Lux officers approaching, or anyone of authority that might ask to see an ID. That was something Ruby didn't have. He was well aware that it was possible to create fake Lux IDs, and he knew that many people had them. He did not, unfortunately.
But no one had given him trouble yet. Ruby just needed to get to Goldenrod, to check up on the city a bit before heading back to Hoenn. Goldenrod was still like a second home to him, after all, it was his birthplace. In fact, he'd love to check on his house. His father, with a gym leader's salary, had never sold the house, and maybe it hadn't been destroyed! Somewhere along his thoughts, Ruby realized that was quite the odd thing to be excited about. After all, all houses should be standing tall, there shouldn't have to be any people pushed out of their homes because of war. It was unnatural and people died every day because of it.
Almost there! Ilex Forest was in site now! Soon he'd be alone in the forest, getting through as quickly and as efficiently as possible. But before he could reach the gate, he felt an odd yank of the back of his shirt. "Hey hon! Take advantage of our free, random, singles awareness day dinner! We're gonna find you someone to eat with! Get romantic!" The woman's hair was curly and she snapped her gum loudly as she spoke, man handling Ruby and pulling him along. A date? Ruby didn't have time for this sort of thing, and he squirmed to show it. "Honey, stop 'squirmin. You look like a Wurmple. We're gonna getcha a date! Be happy!"
Obviously, there was no use in trying to get away. Just a quick dinner, and he'd be on his way.
At least Ruby hoped so.
